i had my n96 about 2months and had v11.018 firmware update. it was a great phone for music lover and the features was impressive. but the main problem is that the battery runs out fast and its kinda slow because of the downgrade of the processor. i was a little bit disappointed about the performance even it was updated. but i have no regrets on buying it. even its expensive. its up to the user how he will hadle the phone. so buy at your own risk.

i heard that there is a new firmware update.. v12 but not yet released on other countries. ill just wait for it to be released and maybe it could fix some bugs and performance problems.

so n96 users, dont be very disappointed about the negative opinions of others.

I'm not against this mobile. But just a thought. My friend regrets buying this replacing his N95 8Gig. He said that the battery life is so much lesser and has more bugs. Maybe due to the slower processor also. Compared to N95 8gig, the only difference is just minor interface change and the digital tv, its as if it's that useful btw. For its price, it not a great buy. He envies me, having a X1.

Riley(austrsralia), 13 Dec 2008how much memory(onboard) does it have and can it take a SD/... moremicroSD card. I'm using an 8gb card in tandem with the 16gb onboard memory. Update the phone to firmware version 12.043 to have a good phone experience. When I first had mine it's unstable and slow. Now everything's ok.

anonymouse, 14 Dec 2008its so so foolish to compare nokia phones name in china and... moreI am European, living and working for 5 years in China electronics and I tell you. you are so right.
Come to china and see what they produce, Europe and America became babies if you compare the mass production of high end electronics.

its so so foolish to compare nokia phones name in china and finland. You people talk as if China-made nokia are made of chinese clay and finland-made nokias are made of never-ever-break-material-from-the-future. Of course there are chinese made fake phones (there's even a NOKLA which i've seen, hold and used, have you ever even seen it?) but we're talking about genuine phones here which only happen to come out from a different geography. I have seen, heard and experienced instances where chinese made genuine nokias lasts much much longer than finland made ones. Made in China doesn't mean that the phone is spurious. It only means that the phone is made in Chinese factories under the same regulation, using the same specification, and under the watchful eyes and direct control of the Nokia corp. bosses. Most of Nokia handsets today are 'made in finland, assembled in China'. If you think chinese made original nokias are so bad why don't you buy your own country made nokia huh? And no, i'm not chinese and i don't know kung fu either.

N96POSSIBLEBUYER, 13 Dec 2008i like the look, but i wanna know about internet surfing/br... moreI had an N96. For a month. I exchanged it for htc Tytn11. Best move I made. The htc is far better for surfing the web and messaging with four different methods of writing your text.. AND I get a signal everywhere-something I didn't have with the nokia. Don't think I am a nokia knocker. I love my n73 but the 96 was a BIG disappointment.

it's kinda foolish comparing china phones to finland ones, the difference is obviously miles away. unless u'r from china, on which u have to patronize ur own even worst comes to hmmmn...
