Its an N95 with an N81 case. Same crap screen, same crap OS, same crap user interface, same crap battery life, same crap camera. Double the price. Might as well get the N85 which has the same spec but double the battery life and an OLED screen. Nokia make no sense whatsoever, idiots.

Superb phone....I have read allot of the comments on here which have been negative, but i must say even tho the processor has been downgraded...it still runs as smooth as the n95, i have had both the N95 and N95 8gb and now going to the N96 seeing that it has 16gb of memory, all i can say is that its is handling much better than i expected. Camera is great so many features that i havent had a chance to try yet. I have had been testing it for a week now, and i have not experienced any freezing, or restarts. Plastic does seem cheap, but looks awesome once you see it in person. Battery lasted me 2 days with moderate usage. What can i say if you dont like it dont buy it,if you want it its your choice to go for it. I got it for $850 AUS. Overall id rate it a 9 out of 10. I really had doubts about this phone but now i can honestly say i love it.

Kenzo, 31 Oct 2008Wow dude was it that bad:o(...... eyi i feel ur great disa... moreDude, honestly, it's a piece of sh*t. Obviously it depends what you wanna use it for. I reckon the only thing it's got going for it is a good camera and video recording. Otherwise, it's slow, unreliable and you don't wanna spend 18 months of your life with it, if you're buying it on a contract here in the UK. Good luck with your choices but DO NOT get the N96. I don't work for anyone of Nokia's competitors, I swear to God. I do know my phones though. The N96 is sh*t.

right now im still using my n95 8gb, but definately i'll get this beast (i'll just wait till the price goes down the drain)...for me its the total package, 16gb, tv reception, videos (ipod in the palm of my hand), 5mp cam and of course expandable memory! (16gb mmc is on its way)
but to be honest with u guys, i hate what nokia did on the looks (hate n81)..easily get scartched..i know nokia could have done something better, such as 6500's steel casing.

Nanster, 04 Nov 2008Oh really now and which ericsson might that have been. I th... more"Ericsson R380 (2000) was the first commercially available phone based on Symbian OS. As with the modern "FOMA" phones, this device was closed, and the user could not install new C++ applications. Unlike those, however, the R380 could not even run Java applications, and for this reason, some have questioned whether it can properly be termed a 'smartphone'."

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2008I have this phone for the past 3 weeks now. and i can tell ... moresorry, but I do not agree with you.I also use this mobile and for sure will not return it. Charge your battery during the night and you will never face a problem. My mobile was hanging 1 time in 5 weeks, compared to my previous TYTN II a real success. Sound quality is great, by speaker and headphone. Really difficult to understand why you have so many problems. N96 is a fantastic mobile and indeed, if it was build with a little less plastic it should be better, but....nothing is perfect in life

Great lookinging handset but This is an awfull handset. Constantly recharging the battery and rebooting the handset due to crashing! sound quality is terrible. Took it back and exchanged it for a 6600 slide which looks even better and the battery actually lasts.

I have this phone for the past 3 weeks now. and i can tell you from experience, this is the worst phone i have ever owned. The battery lasts for a day at max and this is with 40-45 mins of talk time and half hour of music (without headphones). It is painfully slow, and hangs at the drop of a hat. The speaker quality is poor, and jarring to the ear even with adjustment to the equaliser setting. Even if you need 16 GB of memory increase your budget and go for the INNOV8, its worth it. If you can suffice with 8 GB go for the N95, you will not regret it. I have used all 3.
