N79 has same sound quality as N78. N78 has better sound quality than N82. N82 has better sound quality than N95. Going back to N85, N85 has worse sound quality than N96. N96 has worse sound quality than N81. N81 has worse sound quality than INNOV8 and N91. So here's the rankings of these phones according to their sound quality via 3.5mm jack in descending order:
1.Nokia N91/N91 8GB/ Samsung INNOV8
2.Nokia N81/N81 8GB
3.Nokia N96
4.Nokia N85
5.Nokia N78/Nokia N79
6.Nokia N82
7.Nokia N95/N95 8GB

About the n85 sound, i doubt that review was valid. Or maybe that phone got away with not having the firmware restrictions on sound.

Does windows recognize as storage device when pluged in usb without PCSuite or other software instaled. Or do i need to install PCSuite software to access n96's memory?
i will appreciate memory access without need of instaling software.
Same question for n95 8gb.

iolo003, 28 Oct 2008ive read a review by a very respectable mobilephone expert,... morehow come? there are already owners of n85 and they have common opinion that n85 produces just average sound quality. if n85 has better sound quality than innov8, then it means n85 has better sound quality than n91 since innov8 has better sound quality than n91. that review from p@sco is not reliable. there has been a couple of reviews ive read stating that n85 has average sound quality only. and its hard to believe that n85 which has no dedicated audio chip will sound better than n96 and innov8 which are equipped with a dedicated audio processor.

you will can have a better disign
for n96.but you disign are good.
and you can use a system better than it.
all in one.

I m a very hardcore Music lover listening music through quality headphone.Im also very fan of loudest
speaker phone.I want to buy a phone for main purpose of enjoy high quality music.
Now my question is : which phone is perfect for me among Nokia 91 4gb/8gb, Nokia N96 ,
Nokia N81, Nokia N95 8gb , any samasung/Sony Ericsson phone for listening very high quality music?
those r used this sets plz advice me...thanks

This phone is real tacky in real life, i love my 95 8 gig, but would not be up-grading it to one of these, i'd be looking at a Sony 905 or a Samsung i8510 INNOV8, hey just my opinion..try one for yourself..

Bakekang, 27 Oct 2008Pls dont recommend N85 as a music phone because its sound q... moreI dont see the need to run for an 8mp cameraphone. 5mp and even 3.2mp cameraphones produce really great photos. Plus the photos are much bigger than the resolution settings of a laptop. More megapixels isnt a necessity.
Yes, nokia plans to unveil an 8mp cameraphone soon which has some nice suprises under the hood, but i stil dont believe its worth an upgrade if u have n95/n95 8gb, n82, n79, etc.
About the camera and music, i dont think there is any phone at the moment that can handle both of these perfectly. N96 and innov8 are way too pricey and have battery life issues. N85 has a decent camera and decent sound, but is not the best out there. Same thing with the 5800xm. Good camera, but not the best. Good sound but not the loudest either.
If you must have a good camera and music, get n85 or 5800xm. Just dont expect too much from them.
However, i suggest getting a cameraphone with a good battery life like n95 8gb, n82, n79 etc and get the nokia bh 604 bluetooth headset. They sound the same on any phone and deliver sound better than any mobile phone can currently offer.

virusce, 27 Oct 2008hire is an opinion I don't use digital zoom it ruins the ... morehad it tried it hated it! huge and plastic! kept freezing up and camera so hard to get to use plus lots of shutter lag. battery doesn`t last long, you cant get tv on it unless you live in france, speaker quality poor and very tinny! accelrometre takes 5 seconds to turn images .. was a real let down .. took it back saturday and had the sony ericsson c905.. does what its says on the tin and brill camera and build quality.... absolutely brilliant!

by the way I used n96 for a week it's quality don't match the price period
