haha! this is the most criticized latest nseries phone. more people don't like it than love it. it's no wonder, more people are buying samsung innov8 than n96 even if innov8 costs a little more bucks. n96 is a mistake. they should've released it in early 2008. because today, it's kinda outdated already. months after, maybe early january 2009, nokia's 8mp flagship phone will soon be announced and n96 users will soon regret they have spent a lot of money for this buggy, outdated phone.

Nokia N95 8gig is much cooler looking than this one. My friend sold his n96 immediately before it depreciates. He said that the screen is much clearer on N95 8gig and the feel of the phone is so plasticky. Camera performance is much worse than earlier 5meg Nokias, the image quality and the shutter button is a mistake.
I feel that the music controls on the d-pad made the dual slide design redundant. It just made the symbian key and cancel key so little and hard to press.

The handset i very slow and unresponsive, after numerous demos to customers we dont reccomend getting this handset at all, the new samsung is by and far more superior.
Unless u want a slower phone with totally appalling battery life

based on your comments and suggestions, i have come to my conclusion that most of the people here with those negative comments might don't have the capacity in buying this n96...that's why they construct negative comments just to discourage possible buyers.well....dont fret...i;m going to buy this unit and i'll tell u if it is a negative or a good one. THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL!

I am sure Nokia will not give us different type of phone. Last 7 years its is giving same software of same layout with more or less functions. Try MOTOZINE ZN5

Have both N96 (home) and N95 8GB (work) and honestly, N95 8GB is slightly better:
1. Faster (look at CPU specs)
2. Battery (also charging take less time)
3. Buttons works better
4. N96 feels bit plastic and breakable
5. N96 system crash at least twice a week
N96 is a good phone but go for N95 8GB or wait for new N96

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970If you have an n95 8gb, then dont get n96. Its a great phone, but its improvements are not major enough to replace your n95 8gb. Dont get innov8 either. Its like an n96 with an 8mp camera. Not too many improvements on it either. Wait for a better phone, but if you feel you must get a new phone soon, try something totally different like 5800xm or e71.

I upgraded from my old N95 to Samsung i8510. Definitely chose the right handset. Usual teething problems on N96 as with all N series handsets. I didn't like the feel of the N96, very cheap and the main feature of the phone is useless in the UK, I'd rather have the 8MP camera and optical joystick of the i8510. Much more of an upgrade than the N96

This is not a phone for N95 owners. N95 is still best. Quality of hard ware of this phone is absolutely terrible. Nokia’s No.1position is in danger Samsung is very close to take over. Samsung is technological power house. Nokia is trying hard bur recent models of Nokia are just run of mills except E71. Wake-up Nokia!!
