Sun, 10 Nov 2010Just dial *#7370# for the hard reset..if the phone responds... moreI know it's old, but the specs are still decent.
The new touchscreens like Galaxy9000, X10 and N8 are so big (+-4") so they don't fit into top pocket easily and they are so thin that if they are in your back pocket, I think they will crack in half.
They also need a hell of a lot of data (downloads) to make them any thing decent.
I'm looking for a phone that is a good phone with a couple of extras, not a mini computer. N96 should do just fine! You certainly won't miss a call 'cos they ring so loud.
This may be my first Noksia since a 3210 (black 'n white screen). I've had SE's since then.

Nokia N96 is a modern computer entertainment tv mobile phone. Can anyone just name one phone that have all the features in Nokia N96 such as: 16 gigabytes storage, micro card slot, dual arm cpu, radio, digital tv channels feature, best camera lens 'Carl Zeiss', 3d stereo speakers and kick stand.

A bit far from me, MTN deals are only valid in South Africa. I hope they still have stock for me. There are too many replica N96's out there, so be careful where you buy one if you can find one. Replicas usually only have a 7 day warranty!

thanks.It is original Nokia with 2yrs warantee.
I will go and check it out further. The monthly price is low so I will still have spare cash for an added data bundle,all for less than the cost of an android phone.

Jon if you trust it is original Nokia N96 then buy. Nokia stop making it in 2009 because cost of production was very expensive. Nokia will be updating most of it's phones from 2011 frequently.

Jon if you trust it is original Nokia N96 then buy. Nokia stop producing it in 2009 because cost of production was very expensive. Nokia will be releasing frequent updates in 2011 to most of their handsets which consists of new browser and other features to improve performance.

Is it a good phone? Should I buy one and will I be happy with it? I don't care about TV on it, navigation more important and browsing/downloading.
Have all the initial problems been sorted out by software upgrades?

The Live tv is free with 11 channels on Nokia n96 in Ghana.
Nokia have discontinued the production of N96, so is very difficult to get to buy at a shop.

I'm looking at purchasing a new N96. Have all the software issues been resolved. The phone is going cheep ('cos its been around for 2 years) and I don't quite want to get a smartphone with android etc.
Should I buy one? Friend has N95 8GB and he's totally satisfied although I read that 96 is not as good as N95.
Anyone got feedback of long term usage and is current (what's it like now)? Do they still freeze?

Nokia N96 entertained me the whole day. I watched 3 English league matches and 2 La liga matches using the Digital Video Broadcast function.
