Most people seem to be focusing on the battery life. Agreed it is an issue, however, I feel there is a much bigger one. Nokias reliance on Symbian as a platform for their smartphones. Before you all start, I know that they have majority ownership of Symbian but I feel the platform is much too unstable to truly lead the way.
Sadly, no other operating system has presented itself for use in such mass market phones. Apples I-Phone interface is lovely but not ideal for a true smartphone. If it was married with a QWERTY ketboard it would be nigh on perfect.
Windows Mobile is a decent system but falls behind on the user interface. Even with HTCs touchFLO system it isn't as intuative as the iPhone.
Lastly, Blackberry is a good, if outdated platform. It is wonderfully stable but needs updating to fall into line with the rest. there also is no touch capability (yet) so that knocks points off them.
Until someone (Android) comes up with a good platform, Nokia will continue to strangle their feature-rich phones with this rediculously unstable operating system.

N 96 i am waitting for this phone to arrive in kuwait but i cant understand y nokia have a problem in battery.Atleast the battery stand by up to 3 days same like the old mobile which i hav know N90 but i have used n 95 , n 82 , n 95 8 gb n 81 , n 82 8 gb, plz plz plz nokia try to solve this problem,Thanks

950 MAh battery is frugal considering power N-96 pcaks. Anything less than 1500 MAh battery would be a disaster

I mainly agree with you, except for the battery life stuff. I have a 6270 with a BL-5C 3.7 V battery with a capacity of 970 mAh. Man, I'm using a two-year-old S40 interface, which is not even close as power-thirsty as S60 FP2, and the battery lasts 4 days almost in stand-by. You can't possibly tell me that the N96 battery is going to last for more than 2 days if you take a couple of shots and listen to an album. How much optimized can that OS be?

This Phone looks quite similar with N81 .......
Do anybody know how many pixel that this phone can take in video ........
I just found that my friend's phone can take a 640 X 480 video ...... so nice .....

Ali , i did not undersdtand one word you said ! your so confused about your words !
any ways n96 looks promising but as stated the battery life is less and whats the use of a phone which u carry on with no charge :P
Otherwise the phone looks promising . I wonder if there will be ever a phone which will have everything in it with no major setbacks !

I'm a nokia fan, but i have been so dissapointed with them because their battery life's sucks compare to SE which can last average 6 to 12 hour talk time. Don't nokia do anything to fix their battery to increase their market share?

as far as i heard Nokia n98 is coming before this. which looks better and more features. best for touch screen lovers. (even we won't be able to compare touch screen with iphone but still)

Great phone, but doesn´t have a touchscreen.No games, you have tu buy them. No camera protector and I can not find a nice case for it. Does anyone know if n96 have touchscreen?.
