this is a good phone but not great... its 1 of the most boring phone i hav ever owned... no great games. i had a n81 and i still prefered that to this, yes i know that might sound stupid.. but the music quality on that phone is the best i hav ever heard on a mobile device.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010is this phone good quality or does it give lots of iritatin... moreI find it to be a really nice phone, but only because I'm tech savvy enough to get past most of its quirks. CPU power is sufficient, but it lacks enough memory, with the 72mb c: drive filling up quickly(don't let the 32gb of space fool you, it's useful, but you can't put your web cache on it for one). Software has always been really flaky, with some suspect early design decisions being a pain to this day (ie. we get a lot of firmware updates (hurray), but don't hold your breathe for the one that will magically fix the bloody thing).

It also has a frustrating amount of glitches and bugs, which makes it a pain to live with if you don't know how to circumvent them.

If you're professionally active in the electronic technology sector, I heartily recommend you get the n97. Otherwise, give it as wide a berth as you can humanly manage... seriously... run.

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010is this phone good quality or does it give lots of iritatin... moreI had a lot of problems with mine... I got one last Sept 2009, so the phone was faulty back then (they may have been fixed now... although i have heard even the n97 minis who were supposed to be better are starting to report problems). So... The lens scratches as the cover is too close, it is laggy (slow), touch screen is poor (unlike iPhone which is great), it drops out during calls, sometimes i have to try to call people a few times before it lets me successfully start calling. Sometimes the screen doesn't rotate when I push it up (so the qwerty keyboard is showing) which is a pain in the ass. Hmmm... What else? I have a X6 on the way. Would have preferred soemthing better but Vodafone have been brilliant and have offered this to me as my phones functionality isn't acceptable.

But as I said, the newer N97s may have all these problems solved. Good luck with your choice! If I had my time again, I wouldn't have been stubborn and I would have just gotten an iPhone.

Apparently android phones are the way to go such as the HTC Legend and Sony Ericsson X10

i need to buy a new Nokia cellphone. My Nokia 5300 is on its last legs. It's literally "sputtering" by now (like a car would sputter). I'm trying to decide between the Nokia N97 and the E72. I like the fact that the N97 has a jumbo-sized 32 gigs of INTEGRATED memory, BESIDES the microSD card slot (which I have no problem with, considering all my gadgets use some form of the SD-memory-card standard), not to mention the full QWERTY keyboard, and the fact that, because it's a touchscreen, I can use it from within a transparent pocket that I have inside my jacket and where I will keep my new cellphone at all times and use it from there so I don't even have to take it out of the jacket just to use it (and yes, I know that I can do this on any cellphone that is "candybar"-type and/or "touchscreen-navigation"-type). I know that I'll also be able to use the E72 in this way.

I've already tried a N97 at a cellphone-retailer here and I like the navigation, I find it very easy and not shabby at all, and I have huge thumbs, but can easily type on the QWERTY keyboard. The E72 isn't available here so I'll have to order it online (if I *do* decide to buy that one), but I *have* tried the keyboard on the E71 and I feel that the individual keys are [too] freaking tiny but that with some luck and patience I'll get used to it (since my mom has a Blackberry Pearl 8120 and I got used to typing on that one in about 30 minutes, while on my old Motorola V220 it took me 25 minutes).

I really need all your advice and help here. Should I get the Nokia N97 or the E72? Any thoughts, comments, advice, and suggestions are welcome. (And I *have* already read the reviews for both cellphones on various websites, including CNet.com and GSMArena.com by the way)
