What a brilliant phone! I recently offloaded my BB 9700 Bold, to fund a purchase for the N97. I was truly dissapointed with the Blackberry. Ok, I must add that it was my first BB, after coming from a long line after almost exclusive Nokiaring (made that word up:-)
Back to my comment: After my first week, I learned the hard way and first hand what all the fuss regarding the phone's flaws was about. Really buggy software. Phone froze continuesly, apps would disappear then reappear, music went missing, scrolling the web was such a chore, especially when comparing it to my 5800XM I hold in my other hand.
But then I checked out some blogs, found out I was still running the original flawed V20 software. I logged onto Nokia.com, loaded the latest software update, now I own (in my personal opinion) the best Nokia I laid my hands on so far, and this is a short list of my most recent Nokias: N-Gage, 6600, 6680 N82, N95, N96, 5800XM. So I don't know, but I think I kinda can have the opinion I have, right?
In closing, if you're not the kinda person who regularly messes around with the inner workings of phones, or the type who "just need a phone to make calls" then I wouldn't recommend the N97, cause you will have to get your "hands dirty" technically.
Can't wait to get my hands the N900 next :-)

this version is so so bad and can't used in hard work althogh its price is high.
nokia care in Egypt do nothing for repairing any problem of this kind of mobilephones.
I do't know what mean by warranity and there is no repairing of troubles
high price and many options mean good mobile not bad mobile such like Nokia

i tried to update my ovi maps but the phone keeps telling me that ther's not enough memory and that i should free space by deleting something..what to do?

i love my N97 hey but yoh there is so much that goes wrong with it... its like there is so much memory "so-called" on the phone yet you cant use it as it makes the phone go off track i.e. it starts to go slow and then the volume doesnt work and so on and then a week later its back on track...i really dont understand BUT i still love my phone to be honest

I'm feel very disapointed, because of it's very difficult to download games n also the phone get slowly when use ovi to seach app or games. I think i'll loved iphone much than nokia phone.

when hold the phone or put in pocket using sports tracker on running or walking, the path drawn very shaking...is it like tat? shake while i move... make it isn't accurate drawn on map.
