CJ, 22 Dec 2009How can we see the name and number together for contacts? W... moreunfortunately, there's no option to switch the contacts view to a "name and number", unlike the basic phones out there that provide for one. you'll just have to scroll unto the name, click on it, then you'll see a tab above. that's how it's 'unintellingently' done nowadays, insofar as my opinion.

I used my NOokia E90 to charge the battery of my Nokia N97.

I rarely use my Nokia N97 to charge. I sometimes use the charger adapter but that was before and I now use my Nokia E90 to charge all 3 of my BP-4L batteries. That's why I hate it when my Nokia N97 will not boot up and thus using the Modified Memory Card Trick

use the charger that comes in the box of the N97 and your battery life will improve....if u use the adapter with an older charger it doesnt charge the battery properly

You can try this hard reset method:
                                  Caps shift
                                  Space bar
                                  Delete button
                                  On button
Note all of these buttons should be pressed in this sequence and hold your press after it for a while! Also make sure that you have your phone fully charged and your data backed up on your PC!
Hope you do find my tip helpful to your problem.

gabby131, 21 Dec 2009memory card trick? is that dis-installing and re-installing... morethe memory card trick can be used if your n97 won't turn on and you are stuck on the white nokia screen. The trick is that if this happens, turn the phone off (by removing the battery) then take out the memory card. Then turn the phone on. When you get past the white nokia screen and see the two shaking hands, reinsert the memory card. It might take a few tries (usually i need to do this about 5 times) before the phone boots up. It hasn't failed me yet, and i can avoid having to hard reset. Hope it doesn't happen to you!

Hi, I have a Nokia E71 that is a really great phone to have with zero problems so far thank GOD!
I want to buy the Nokia N97 cause all the problems that it has, have been resolved regarding the software issues, thats after you download the latest firmware from the Nokia site!
I saw it with my friend and used it for 2 months(borrowed it) I fell in love with this phone, and its true that it has a thurst for battery haha!
My friend that had the N97 has bought the N900, its a great phone so far, though it lacks some stuff as of its new operating system doesn't have all the applications ready for it! I would love to buy it but the N97 has a lower price tag though it doesn't differ that much from the N900 in its usage that much!
So guys stick with the N97 till now cause its not like the N900 made in CHINA and Designed in Finland!
The N97 you can find ones that are made in Finland in respectable mobile stores!!!
Feel free to reply to my comment.

what i like about n97 is how it reacts when it kinda freeze. usually, i remove the battery of the phone when the freezing is in a critical state, in my n97's case, yes it freeze, on the maximum, but the reaction of the phone, before i remove the battery, it just blinks, and forced back on the main screen, then everything is good (all apps running are closed) i dont have to remove the battery or reboot,
