Just some tips
upgrade to v20
then format mass memory e: drive
then hard reset by using three keys +power button method
your n97 should work flawlessly
and change some setting in message ovi store, web setting etc
avoid using phone memory as download destination

my iPod touch headset with micro is very easy to break!!:((( beacuse the bad design an poor material used:;;;((((((
nokia n97 is not perfect but it suit my need in every aspects!

I've had this phone for 2 months and had quite a few problems, mainly due to instability. In 2 months, i've had to hard reset the phone 3 times because it refused to turn on or hung. It's a great phone when it works, but was too unstable. I was ready to throw it away and get an iphone, but decided to wait for the new firmware. I updated to v20 a couple of days ago and it's breathed new life into the phone! Faster, more stable - it hasn't hung or frozen once since. This was the firmware that the phone should have been released with. I'm relieved i waited for the firmware. Very happy right now.

Don't change product code for v20 update, void warranty! Just wait!
don't hack with helloox 2, sign each apps individually instead, because rompatcher use much battery power
there is a good article in nokiausers.net forum about tweak your n97 to perfection if you are concerned about the battery power on n97!:)))

Jayson (dubai), 31 Oct 2009Guys, i tried to upgrade the new firmware in my N97 but i g... moreyou have to wait until your provider does allow the update. the only other thing you can do if you want the update right away is to debrand your phone, which changes your product code. but this voids your warranty shoud you need it..i am not sure if debranding a phone is reversible. If your are interested in debranding, just google it and there are plenty of guides explaining how to do it for the n97.

I have been a Nokia fan since mobiles came out, I have always had one. I have had every flagship model over the last 6 years and almost every N series phone... the N80 back in the day was bad in the begining but the N97 takes the cake. The bugs are to long to go into here - but just google it and see.
The problem is, is it does not work as it should - plain and simple.
I know "some people" will like this phone, thats fine. But to all considering it.. My advice would be to stay away.
Sadly this will be the last Nokia I will buy untill they can release a stable handset from the get go.
Sad day for a longtime Nokia fan, Nokia you have brought it on yourself. You will take years to get to iphone\Blackberry stability if you ever do.
Your simple handsets are great... pity about your highend "so called flagships.

While receiving a call i have to unlock the phone first and then tap answer which i find irritating. In Nokia 5800 i could answer the call without unlocking ie I could take the call directly by tapping answer. I would like to know whether all N97 users are having the same problem.

Guys, i tried to upgrade the new firmware in my N97 but i got the message saying that my provider dont allow the new version or still have the updates for the new firmware. any other option pls. pls. reply asap.

Why is everybody keeping quit? why are you not complaining About the Nokia N97? i seem Nokia has gotten super glue to glue all the N97 user. Is there anyone having problem with his N97?

Does anyone know how to unlock N07 for free. Please let me know ho can I unlock my Nokia N97 locked by T-Mobile UK. I am trying to use it with other service in some other country :-(

Why does a phone with 32gb memory not give you the option to save contacts to the hard disk instead of the phone memory?!!?

To all those who tried helping me to get back my contacts, today i formatted the phone memory and reinstalled all contacts and everything is ok. I Love the n97. Best phone ever.

karim, 30 Oct 2009i have nokia n97,and i guess i wont buy more nokia phones i... moreKarim, i had a small pbm wit my n97 which is still there but i found a way to deal with it. i used the 1phone and i won't trade my n97 for an iphone. all depends on taste. 2days ago i got the latest v20 firmware and the n97 works wonderfull, fast, very responsive n u wn't think its a resistive touchcreen and the other features are also perfect. Am sorry but mayb u have a wrong n97. i bought mine in august, so i was among the first to get the n97 and its a very nice phone. And currently, after using the experia and the iphone, i say N97 IS THE BEST.
