Had this N97 for a while The phone software is shocking constantly freezing incoming calls. been back and forth to Nokia the problem persisted until I threw it away and went back to my Nokia N95 solid reliable and multitasks ok. I feel very let down by Nokia N97 back up and serice. What phone to get now ?

napster, 20 Oct 2009throw your phone its useless.Thank u bt i dnt need that advice. I like the n97. Apart from the contacts issue, the phone works perfect. I just need help in how to access the contacts in the phone memory which do not display. That's all! so keep off i u can't help.

The phone is terrible, I had it just for two days. It has almost no usefull aplications for downloading, the GPS has an intermitent signal what makes it barely useless and the battery lasts just one day. The phone is far away from its specifications.

Has anyone in canada on the fido network been able to connect to 3G on their N97? I have the RM-505 model (asia version) & whenever I try to connect to 3G, it fails & connects to EDGE (which blows).
Any thoughts?

It's very stable, and is a massive improvement from the original firmware the phone was released with. Also, as someone else has said, maybe you think that the phone is locked, but only the backlight has dimmed, so when you slide the unlock button on the side you actually lock it, then have to slide it again to unlock it. I know I've made that mistake a few times! Press the silver button on the bottom left corner first, and if the phone is indeed locked it will tell you to use the side button.

1..if I get the cert from opda site, and sign the unsigned apps, will the signed apps I signed with the cert expire after some period of time?
2...Signed app with my own cert will work with other n97 phone?

N97 os is the mini/symbian version of maemo5 or maemo 6!
Features like panonamic desktop and dash board! Mini fennec on symbian:)

This phone has the great form factor and excellent design
btw nokia annouced the camera Len design fault and poor gps reception problem
you can take yr phone to nokia servcice center for repair for free
don't care about the lack of 3d, cause ibdony have much time for gaming
don't care 128 of ram, cause some users claims that it work well with music player, web browsing and nimbuzz running together!
Don't care a bout 434mhz, it is higher the one in than e71
don't care about the euro 449 now, iPhone 3gs 32g unlocked sell for double the price of n97
