hello i posted a review of the nokia N97 a few weeks ago this is just a brief update . I reported that i was not fully satisfied with the handset and recent events have only served to sour that opinion even moreso sorry to say but nokia seem to have produced a dud ,to a long time nokia user thats a shock that a company with such prestige choose to launch a sub standard product and allow the user to pick up the pieces and struggle with it ,so enough is enough to all potential N 97 users dont put up with this mare of a phone and choose something else to spend your money on . sorry nokia its just too much of an experimental handset to fob onto the general public and expect them to sort out the bugs do your products some justice and get them right first time . Sorely disappointed cliff

The Nokia N97 is worth the money you spend as you'll be getting MORE than the iPhone. And its a much better phone than the iPhone. the N97 has better display quality and larger resolution than the iPhone. So watching movies are better on the N97 plus the sounds are better too. got 2 speakers on each corner than the single speaker in the iphone. the N97 is an all rounder while the iphone is just a fashion accessory.

Im from sri Lanka and im lookin for a gud fone to buy..which 1 is the best?? Nokia N97?? is this the best smartphone in the market?? Plz somebody suggest me a good handset to buy...it shud b lesser than 600 $..please..thanx in advance .. :) I want gud sound (music) ,3G,Gud browser n a gud camera only (n it shud b stylish too ;-) )..

Im so ... moreIf you value a very good all around phone with a strong battery,good camera and crystal clear photo browsing , beautiful video recording and hardware qwerty then go for the n97. Its design is a real eye catcher as well.

N900 (resistive screen) has very smooth flicks scroll just like the iPhone
but why n97 has terrible flick scroll in web browser?
Why? Is it software related or hardware related?
V20 is coming next week !!!:). I would own n97 before Xmas:)))
I have ended up choosing n97:(. The price of sim free n97 is half the price of iPhone unlocked

In response to your question about touchscreen sensitivity, there are in fact two different types of touchscreen on the market to consider; resistive (N97) and capacitive (iPhone).
A resistive touchscreen is pressure sensitive.
Pro; you may use a stylus, pen, or any object to navigate.
Con; accidental dialing may occur because of this.
A capacitive touchsceen is heat sensitive.
Pro; inanimate objects cannot incur a response from the phone and cause unintentional use.
Con; heat naturally emenates from fingers, meaning you will have fat finger syndrome when typing/dialing.

why nokia can't make n97 web flick scroll smooth?
It makes me feel dizzy while browsing the webpage!!!!

I have had the same trouble, because nokia n97 has resistive touchscreen and iphone has capacitive touchscreen which I guess does make the difference.
For web browsing iphone is ahead, other than that n97 is fine for me.
