After the formatting c:
all the preinstalled apps/wigets would be gone?
Formatting phone running firmware 12 would downgrade to firmware 10?
I would like to to see firmware 2.0 hope nokia allows some of 32g memory for virtual ram, so we can properly multitask !!!!!
resistive screen 434mhz without 3d hardware acc are good for battery life

I am sure the n98 has n97 form factors with upgraded hardware spec!

I've read many negative comments about N97, probably because they can't afford this phone. First of all, the touchscreen of N97 is not the same as iPhone. But people are comparing these 2 phones. N97 user interface is different from iPhone. You can select your selection with just one touch with iPhone but with N97, the UI requires you to highlight the selection the first time, then only select it at second touch. This design has its advantage. It can prevent you from choosing wrong selections especially when you are trying to preview a file such as mp3. And N97 has resistive touchscreen instead of capacitive touchscreen which iPhone has.
Undeniably, N97 is slow. But you will only notice this when your mass storage is loaded with a lot of files. Which make it quite pointless to have a 32GB mass storage. The user interface is not as user friendly as most of the Nokia phones. There are some applications that you just don't know where to find the exit option and end up having tonnes of minimize applications in the background. And thus slowing down the performance of the phone.
If the new firmware can speed up the performance of N97, it will be great. After all, we all are aiming for faster performance devices. Speed is everything.

People say this phone sucks but it doesn't, its one of the greatest phones out there at the moment. Although the software has some issues/bugs, it should be sorted when Nokia introduce their latest Firmware. If that doesn't work then I guess that would be the time to say Nokia has failed with the N97.

I don't understand why people hate n97
n97 is beautiful! Excellent form factor with firmware 2 coming up
I can have spare battery if I run out of battery
I can organize my files right on my phone
I can download file from internet browser
I can Bluetooth tranferng file
I can do voip over 3g
i can update the firmware immediately if available wothout some hackers tell you it is time to update now

Ny current n97 users here?
If I update the firmware to 12, then I hard reset n97. Would the firmware on 97 remain 12?? Or the older firmware version that come with my n97?

To all those who currently own the N97 and have been experiencing problems with it just like the rest of us, let us be patient until next week when Nokia introduce the Updated software for this phone. If the latest Software won't fix this phone then I'd be very disappointed with this phone. The only fault I have experienced with this phone was yesterday when it refused to charge after the battery was completely drianed out. I only had the adapter for the charger and 2 old Original Nokia chargers (1 used for 6101 and 3310), none of them could wake up the phone at all! It only 'woke up' when I used the N97's original charger. I'm not sure if this is a common thing but can't the Nokia N97 use any other chargers than the Original one that came with the phone?

is it possible to install flash 9.4 in n97? Why realplayer never been update to play high quality rmvb? Why no vlc and mplayer and what is coreplayer doing at the moment?
If n97 can play all type of real medaia files and nokia do some ram optizatioan from the 32g mass memory
