I just got my N97 yesterday and what a wonderful phone it is. Great and responsive touchscreen, massive space, loaded with features although it doesn't take one a short time to get the hang of it unless you're used to symbian. I've noticed that the N97 has a lot of bugs and I personally think its because mine still has the original software, I hope all bugs will be gone when the new Firmware update has been released. Other than that this phone is great, I would recommend it to anyone! For those who think this phone is crap they must just understand that the original Firmware has some bugs so they must just wait until October and hopefully the new Firmware will be bug-free...

Very uncomfortable placement of top row keys. Facing problems in key press since it is just close to the sliding touchscreen.

I bought this phone about a week ago and did not like it too many bugs... I'm not recommending anyone to buy this phone... it's waste of money and time.

The N97 started out cold because of the many bugs that it contained when it was released! But we all know that this is easily fixed thru FIRMWARE updates & 2.0 is coming this October! I was one of the first owners of this phone! i bought it since the first day it was launched & i have been using it for more than 2 months now. As a hands-on user, I can really say that it is a very good phone, it has served me well since i bought it. It has all the features that i ever wanted in a hand phone! & the best part is its MULTI-TASKING capabilities! Let me go to details on this coz i think that it is the strongest point of this phone! This is how i use my phone! Lets start w/ my FACEBOOK app,ACCUWEATHER & MY EMAIL CLIENT working actively thru the widgets! then playing a music while using my headset, then i'll open my JOIKUSPOT app to share my 3G internet connection to my buddies! Then to top it all i'll browse the net using the DEFAULT browser w/ FLASH support=YOUTUBE! hehe! & im doing all of these w/ still 20MB free RAM. By the way i can still answer a phone call even w/ all this applications opend & return back w/ out a sweat! hahaha! Beat that then you can say that the IPHONE is the phone to beat! hehe! Its touch Responsiveness is superb comparing it to other resistive screen phones!TIP-Use your nails for tapping to avoid finger prints & to have a more accurate touch! The battery would last a day on HEAVY usage! Hope this helps other to decide!

N97 is by far the best in N-Series.
It was gifted to me on my birthday. And i was surprised.
                      Excellent touch screen. Excellent features.
Excellent handset. QWERTY Keyboard is very comfortable and easy to use.
                      Love my N97

Resistive screens are better then capacitive if you ever dropped your phone.Less chance of damage with resistive. Also,N97 battery is very strong. Secondary camera is 15fps for video calling, better then most. Picture clarity is outstanding and video recording playback as well.Hardware qwerty a definete plus+. really need help in deciding between this phone and the iPhone 3GS...

while i love the interface in the iPhone 3GS, its capacitive touchscreen, its apps, and how smooth it is to navigate..i dont like its lack of videocall and the LOW megapixel camera...

on the other hand i like the n97 because of its videocall, media files capabilities (however i dont like its lack of most codec files), its very very good and high megapixel camera and maybe the qwerty..BUT i really dont like its resistive touch screen, and its symbian reliance, both feel old

to be fair i havent touched the n97 yet yet so i cant really say how responsive the touchscreen is compared to the iPhone..

                                help!

purple, 13 Sep 2009need opinion... i don't know... which to decide?? either no... moreIt's mainly a choice between whether you prefer Windows mobile and Symbian OS. Personally, I think I like better Symbian because screens are nicer, plus phones are more resposive, yet Windows has a vaster array of pps available than s60v5.
SO although N97 has better specs, it's merely choosing which OS has apps available you like best.
Although currently few apps are available for s60v5, expect it to grow soon.
