I do not agree with users saying not to buy this phone! The slow processor is to save battery life and I am a consultant always on the road and the claimed battery life is what it measures up to and all the other bells and whistles with it! Slow processor = longer battery life!!! Try the HTC range if you need a faster phone with crappy battery life! I opt for the nokia, all the features and great battery life!! Do you really need a fast phone!! You surely only use the damn messaging options etc.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970what about the sound quality its very poor... i dont know if they fixed that? but when i tryed the i-phone the sound quality was very low ( i returned it after 2 hours) lol

IM messaging on n97 is auwsome because of the slideout keyboard(unlike iphone on screen keyboard which hide 2/3 of the screen size.my god)
and n97 can do video calling voip over wifi/3g by installing the octrotalk(in beta now)
in short, n97 is made for people who like social networking prgram, voice voip video voip, and offcourdse IM

it's the worst mobile u can ever have , i brought it 3 days ago and it's too slow , restart by it's own specially when ur using the maps application .

Guys honestly speaking N 97 is the best fone for nokia soo far.....previous best was N 95 8 GB.... i brought 5800 coz i wanted to buy a touch fone frm nokia.....cmg frm 5 mega camera to 3.2....well i dint think 5800 camera wld be tat bad....earlier even i dint like N 97...i wanted to buy samsung 8910i...but after reading thr review and knwing abt samsung service, i backed out.....went to see N 97..dint like it much the first time....my friend had brought one, so was just playing around with it...it started to grow on me, i started loving it...the amazing and sensitive touch screen..the huge vivid screen way better than my 5800...my 5800 was very buggy...even with 4 firware updates....hanging...during on and off my all sms disapeared...and many more problems...sms typing on 5800 was too laggy...touch screen wld nt register touch at times....i decided i will buy N 97 in white....well i loved the fone instantly....it was the best ever fone i have ever had....the touch was superb...the built quality, the feel..it felt rich.. the screen is soo vivid...amazing keyboard...this keyboard is a blessing... typing is so fast...even typing on the virtual screen is way faster than my 5800...iam bak to 5 mega camera wic iam very happy with.. i have huge 32 gb ...battery life is amazing...i love the whole home screen thingy.....i love the looks and stying of N 97...the tilt feature....i enjoying playing my 5800 games on my N 97..the touch is so amazing....and N-GAGE is on N 97.....this fone is an allrounder...I LOVE MY N 97 WHITE...LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL....MY FINANCEE WHO USE TO HATE TOUCH SCREEN FONE ( HATED MY 5800 ) FELL IN LOVE WITH N 97 NOW I HAVE TO BUY HER ONE ASWELL.....GOOD JOB NOKIA KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.....I CAN JUST GO ON AND ON SAYING GOOD THINGS ABT N 97..... WELL WITH FEW MORE FIRMWARE UPDATES IT WILL ROCK EVEN BETTER.....well guys forgot to mention how browsing on N 97 with huge screen with kinectic scrolling is so awesome....the screen is way brighter and better colour than 5800....

and for the ones who are saying the device is slow, IT is NOT SLOW, N97 is working very well and the speed is excellent.

I'm still waiting for vodafone to come and collect my N97 i'm a long timer with nokias but sadly i was very disappointed with this mob. its slow the zoom facilty is poor then takes time to focus and if you like using mobiles with one hand only this is not for you. I'm going back to my trusted N95 until they come out with a better touch screen Nokia

N97,,Unfortuantely this phone is not up to the standard as its was hiked by nokia...no way its not a FLAGSHIP" phone, i really disssoptined after using it ,touch is so so.Phone works very slow...please i recommend not to buy this phone with such high price.

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2009not a head turner like iphones and other smartphones!! You are right, is not as good like Apple Iphone, or Samsung Omnia HD, because the slow CPU, the design is COOL! Satio is also very good, guys choose that model, coz is Japanese!!!

-Buggy phone, considering the amount of time before it was released.
-slow cpu.
-Videos and photos takes too long to open.
-lack of smart dialing.
-not capacitive touchscreen.
-nothing great in its camera.
-The rear panel had a problem sitting back into the grooves.
-Closing the keyboard has an annoying loud sound.
-dont have that elegant look, not a head turner like other phones specially iphone.
-The History for contacts option is not available.
-Lack of a Visual Radio application.
-No relevant codecs like DivX and XviD for video playback.
-It all supports AV out but no cables have been included.
-The games are not impressive.
-Its business features are limited to a limited edition of QuickOffice wherein you can’t create documents of your own.
NOTHING SPECTACULAR BUT THE MEMORY. N97 IS JUST A PRETTY GOOD 5800 UPGRADE, BUT NOT AS GOOD AND LIKE THOSE OTHER IPHONE COMPETITORS, NOT LIKE THAT.

I`ve bought a black one last Sunday and ny first opinion is that the phone is quite slow, but everything works till now...i think it won`t be necessary to update firmware like others do...
