If you can live with the 2Mp, front camera, and other little things above, it is a good phone.

Sub-QCIF 15 FPS I think good at iPhone. LOL

so its confirm, this phone will carry TI OMAP 3. it should have been the Qualcomm snapdragon, to bad it doesn't support symbian flatform at the moment only linux and winmo .. no wonder why Nautilus will run linux because Nokia will put snapdragon on it and it will be due Q1 next year.

Here are my reasons as to why the N97 beats the iPhone.

1. The N97 has a display resolution of 360*640 compared to the 320*480 resolution of the iPhone 3G. This allows better display of videos, pictures and browsing the web, etc.

2. The N97 has a hardware QWERTY keypad whereas the iPhone only has a on-screen keyboard. The hardware keyboard is bigger, provides a better and faster typing experience.

3. The 3.5mm audio jack is compatible with all headphones but the 3.5mm jack on the iPhone only supports selected headphones.

4. The N97 has 32GB of built-in memory compared to 8/16GB of the iPhone. The memory of the N97 can also be further expanded by using microSD cards, but the iPhone’s memory cannot be expanded.

5. The N97 allows exchange of files and A2DP through Bluetooth, but the iPhone has only headphone support.

6. The N97 is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, sual LED flash and autofocus. The iPhone camera is only 2 megapixel, lacks a flash and autofocus.

7. The Nokia N97 has video recording of 30fps at VGA resolution while the iPhone doesn’t have it at all.

8. The N97 has a secondary front camera for video-conferencing, the iPhone lacks this.

9. The N97 has a removable battery, but the iPhone has a non-removable one. Thus, the battery is easy to be replaced by yourself; but you have to send it to a service centre for the iPhone.

10. The N97 runs on Symbian S60 5th edition which is a more popular OS than Apple’s OS ,and thus, there are plenty of 3rd party applications, etc, available.

Sphlynx original, 14 Apr 2009Hey LOve peace this is my unbaised reason why, i'll take th... moreI enjoy browsing through the music files on my iPhone, starting some tracks playing then browsing through the photo files which are organized in the folders the same as the ones on my PC, once I've browsed to the files I want and star a slide show, the transitions are nice as the music plays, it's good the way it multitasks as a notification let's me know I have a new email, after checking the email I can resume the slide show as the music, which never stopped continues.

So much for your contention of no multitasking, it's just not true.

I like how the full powered desktop browser let's me set up email accounts, log in to Internet banking, trade stocks and bonds etc, I've tried it on other phones but I keep getting prompts to use a PC, the Blackberry browser for example.

I like editing excel files and now word files with Quickoffice, using Citrix I can also control windows programs on my companies network to edit Office Documents.

I am glad I don't have to be dependent on Adobe's proprietry Flash software to chew up RAM and CPU cycles to deliver choppy low quality video clips when I can play higher quality H.264 video files directly all I need is a link to the file on a webpage.

I look foreward to OS 3.0 to enable the things I probably won't use anyway but it might shut you whiners up.

Component video out not old composite from the eighties, no st*p*d keyboard to break that you have to use with both hands, over 30,000 applications to choose from and much more.

The iphone lovers are just obviously envying Nokia users because they don’t afford too buy a proper phone, like a Nokia N97, HTC…, they just have a fashion accessory like a fake diamante ( iphone ) with no MMS, no BLUETOOTH for sending data, just a 2 MP camera that has no auto focus, nor video recording… nor any settings at all, that looks like somebody accidentally had to punch a hole in the backside of the handset, because they nearly forget to put the camera, no Flash and Java, no office document editor, and no second camera for video calls.
I will stay with my NOKIA because apple has a long way until it will be No. 1, or 2, or 3, or…………………………….. :)

This phone is 100000 time more advance than a crappy iphone. Iphone is not a computer. no file browser, no proper internet browser(no flash). No proper audi/video players. And no MULTITASKING. If you dont kno, a resistive touch is way better than a capacitive. It works all the time and works in all situations. Its more accurate than a capacitive touch in iphone. iphone does not work in many conditions and not accurate atall.

I'll take the N97 any day over the touch hd or any other phone because, Its not just specs that count, its the overall functionality. Nokia N97 bridges the gap between functionality and services. Though both the touch hd, is a nice offering, they severely lack on services and services are the core of functionality.

For example, I don't want to be found in a situation where my friends and colleagues are enjoying Ngage, Ovi app store, widgets, Nokia maps, Nokia messaging, huge array of applications, regular updates and so on, on their N97 and am left out, wishing I had purchased the N97, but by then it will be too late and I hate to regret. So the N97 cuts it for me, its where i'll put my money on. Plus the physical slide out keyboard is a lovely addon, virtual keyboards don't just give you that good feeling inside. I can't trade off full functionality for a few gimmicky features which you can certainly do without. Just my 2 cents. Thanks

i am a retarded nokia lover before, but realize there is something better out there!!!
iphone is great!!! it change the whole phone industry.
and we all know without apple creating iphone, there will be no other revolutionary handsets out there, like this crap here. without iphone, we are still using the prehistoric phones. so we should thank apple for changing the phones today!!!

this phone is already antique! and dead before it comes out. nokia is slow producing phones that can compete in the market. cameras and videos are all we brag about the iphone for not having, but if you see its really not worth paying just for that, thats a dumbthing. we pay for a great product, the uniqueness and the convenience that it gives us. and iphone is a great product...
iphone + itunes + apple is a great combo!!!!
iphone reinvented the phones today! goodbye nokia!
