u hav the same thinking as me. WTH IS NOKIA DOING! messing up the hardwares tat is supposed to be on a flagship jus lik n82 xeon flash , the 8mp N86, OLED screen on N85 . hardwares supposed to be on a flagship jus isn there. wonder wth is nokia doing even samsung omnia hd has surpassed nokia n97 ! :

I cant believe what Nokia are doing. Why have they still not released a phone with an 8MP camera and every other manufacturer has. The N97 is still a great phone, but it's been surpassed by the samsung i8910 already before it's release. Nokia has to seriously announce something big. I am a Nokia fan and I am seriously getting tempted by the samsung i8910. I really don't know what to do.

where all the manufacturers release a phone after 2 to 3 months after first showing(example samsung) nokia on the other hand who are still world no. 1(hard to believe by their recent sets and performance!)would tease every one for a year and then relese such a crappy phone(n96 and problematic 5800xm) that they would loose their market share almost 11% in one year(example last year!)!
cummon nokia! release the set now beacuse after omnia hd, and htc tuch pro2 releases nobody is going to buy n97!
and why the hell should they put a resistive touchsreen in their this yers flagship????where they were the first one to use oled display or one of the pioneers of touch screens(7710 or something!) where as samsung is using oled touch sreens in everything(they would use it even in the box of the set if they could!)!
why nokia why?

even sony ericcsson is coming up with idou whose interface even beats iphone!lg has 6 touch screens,one of them has wicked looking transparent keypad!and htc is making even better version of n97 than nokia(touch pro2),and how can we leave samsung who is trying to fit a space shuttle in their phones!
nokia i beg u please don't make me switch manufacturer! from my first set of3300 to the latest 5800xm i have always used nokia! please answer to the faithfulness of billions of ur fans out their by bringing out some awesome sets!and thus by saving us the shme of changing to samsung or lg!
please nokia please wake up and realise that the glory years of n95 has long gone!otherwise smsung will eat u alive and lg will digest u!

Shame 3 network won't be doing it, this would be amazing. Like they E71, they should pay for sole rights to it for 6 months, the amount of new customer's they'd get as a result would be huge!

I have got my hand into one of the pre realeased version of n97 which came for testing, and I dont like it much, Not only the phone is heavy and big to carry in your pocket, but the keypad sliding mechanism seems to be improper. I dont like much mechanical moving parts in a mobile.
Another thing is that the screen sensitivity is not good at all, Forget the iPhone, the sensitivity is similar to 1-2 year old touchscreen phones. I have to press the screen so hard that Sometimes I think is it really a touchscreen? or Nokia has hidden physical buttons behind the screen so that they are getting pressed through the screen :D :D
