Come on people! This is gsm arena, have you not read that nokia have sold twice as much as samsung? Makin nokia number 1 in sales for 2008 (as usual) and sold over 470 million which is twice as much as samsungs 200 million, look i am really tired of these samsung , LG and iphone fans , you all come here splashing your mouths but you don't have fact, i just gave you fact so keep quiet!

Being dyslexic and all I'm having trouble understanding Nokia's latest financial statement.
Downturn in markets, financial crisis, blah, blah, blah... I guess that explains Samsungs 22% growth.

N97 prototype had some cool features like "point and find", "turn by turn", "geotaggong".....
Does anyone think more new features will be added to the mobile when it is released.(more features than the prototype).

btw, the restriction to 5 megapixel/VGA video in the Nokia range indicates that it could be imposed by the processor used e.g. Samsung and LG are using faster more powerful CPU's to acheive these things.

Now, see, you're running away from the camera when everyone talks about the camera and the megapixels. You're not talking about video recording, who gives a flying donkey @ass f*!k about video recording, you want to record videos then get a real video recorder, not like you're going to use the N97 or 5800 to record your p0rn sessions with your boyfriend or girlfriend with it. If you're going to record your imtimacies with a phone, you should not be recording at all. Phone companies want to make an all in one phone, but there will never be one in this century that will do everything that everyone wants. Phone companies making cameras and video recording on their phones is like getting a custodian(janitor) to cut and style your hair. You want a good product, go to a company that just specializes in that one product, not like sony where they're greedy and wants to make stereos, cameras, phones, tvs.

Let's move on to video, VGA is 4:3 what's the point on a widescreen phone?
To take full advantage you'd have to shoot on a phone that supports WVGA like a Samsung or LG and send it across, otherwise you'd be letterboxing to watch it.

Carl Zeiss is marketing hype, check all the comments on the 5800 camera!
Nokia running scared and skimping on quality.

shoohag, 23 Jan 2009nokia is fine for low profile handset but naow a days nokia... moreLike I said in my posts from a week ago, if you're not a professional photographer you don't need anything more than 5mp for high quality pics. You would need higher than 5mp if you were going to blow up the pic to the size of a poster or if you took a group photo of like 20 people and one of the girls' private area is showing and just cropping that and blowing that up to a size of a mini poster then sure get 8 or 10mp. Space is what you need to store movies, c'mon now, admit it or not, but you know you want to get it for the space to watch your p0rn.

nokia is fine for low profile handset but naow a days nokia is not suitable for who use or want to use high profile handset,they cant think more than 5mp.where sonny ericsson and samsung think to release 12mp in this year and windows based cell phone but nokia only think about space which is useless..........fallen down nokia.

i LOVE the ideas behind this phone. Nokia + touch screen + QWERTY = FTW. To me, the 5 MP is plenty - how often do you blow up the pictures u take (off anything really) to the size of a wall? The resolution and image quality is good enough for any slide show. The only disappointment is that there's no Xenon flash; and i LOVE the xenon flash on my N82.
