I went to my safari browser on my iphone, used pastebud application to copy and paste a webpage, and emailed it to my friend as an SMS so he would receive it as a text message not an email. I was not charged for that sms because I used my iphone's email to send the SMS =)

You lost me there, lol. I don't even know what you're tyring to say, LOL. What I was trying to say is, whether you are taking a video, or taking a photo. You have to hold and focus your device on the object. So if that spectator was holding an iphone, he/she was more than likely just waiting for the right moment to capture a photo by constantly holding it in place. The iphone's video capabilities have been disabled by Apple, so why would they promote it as a video camera phone?

a friend of mine sent me a text asking for help. he doesn't have the internet on his phone and he needs some information. i used Opera browser on my Windows Mobile phone, searched for the information, highlighted the information, copied it. i then went back to his text message, replied to him by pasting the information to the text, sent the text.

copy and paste - what a nice and convenient feature to have

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Oh my gosh, where did your brain go? I know you're exaggerating, so I was being sarcastic =)

One brings what one needs to bring. That's all I can say. I always have my digital camera in my car or in my messenger bag just in case I need to capture an important moment that no camera phone can give justice to. All the other moments, my iphone is good enough. On BT, I will say it again, it is a good feature, and handy, and convenient, but it is not a dealbreaker for us iphone users. We can still send that file via email, and we would give up such a wonderful device such as the iphone just because it cannot BT pics, as if bluetoothing pictures is what we do all day. Nope.

Then why would you even consider an iphone if you live in a country that does not vastly support internet? Internet is a major key player to the iphone's functionalities. It would not make sense to get the iphone if you do not subscribe full internet. Get a basic phone. That's all you need in a country that does not support internet. Gosh, thank heavens I'm in the US.

That's the sound frequencies an amplifier will output on a device like a phone.

They cut out at around 20,000 Hz, which is the limit of human hearing.

Here's a tip, don't beleive everything you see in movies, if you jump off a building you won't fly like superman.

"Handwriting recognition" ... hmmm how uncool is that, I mean that you have to carry a stupid stylus (which has never been cool)... and you end up getting everything you just wrote totally wrong...

                              And I consider(ed) myself a Nokia fan.

BTW Browsing flash-enabled pages on a Nokia is so frustrating, so slow, you get like 5 FPS, and you have to 'open' every single flash animation you want to see first...

That's how it got to YouTube in the first place. But how can you be sure that none of those spectators took pictures as well? You can't.

As for that clip on that movie. There is no way for you to be sure that they were taking a video and not a photo with their iphones, unless you see them demonstrating by pressing an icon that says "video" on the iphone, which there is none. What you're doing is more of giving false information to badmouth the iphone =)

Should that be taken as an absolute truth to be expected every time you fly with that airline? NO. Advertisements and commercials are to be taken with a grain of salt. There's politics behind that iphone ad stoppage in London that we do not know about. There are countless of ads making sweet, "too good to be true" promises. How come they didn't stop those as well? That incident is more than meets the eye.

I use my iphone to browse the web every day. And I can attest that 95% of the time, it does look like how it is on my computer (5% being not having flash support). So for them to make that claim on a commercial is speculatively acceptable.

It depends on which option works for you. You know yourself better more than anyone else. If you are the type who gets tired of a phone after 3 months, then obviously a contract is not for you. But then if you do not have a problem sticking with a carrier for 2 yrs, then I do not see any reason why you should not take the offer of a big discount on an otherwise very expensive phone like the iphone or the N97. Having options and weighing your options is a smart thing. Contracts can be bad, but it can work for some as well.
