Hello everyone! I'm interested in buying the n97 but i've heard that is laggy and it often freezes. Have the firmwares released by Nokia managed to solve those problemes or not? Thanks.

for me N97 is the perfect phone..

there are 2 best things about this phone over 5800.
1st and the best part about n97 is it has a qwerty keyboard.
2nd..its still picture camera quality is far far superior to 5800.
if these two things are enough to buy n97 phone. else _dont_
bTw thr is a new phone in nokia E7 which looks promising with qwerty.

3. HD 720p video recording n playback
Cost around 27000 INR.
If u want less budget go for wave
Wave hav 3.7inch screen & BADA OS. Rest of features r same.
The prob is bada hav limited apps but its growing.
Price is around 17000 INR.BTW wave has a flash in cam but galaxy hasn't.

I used to own an n96, then an n97, both were rubbish so i'm back to usin my n95 as it's far more reliable.

I am using N97 from last 3 months, i havent face any problem with this phone. must buy this phone if u need more storage space, good camera, and intresting surfing

hi everyone. i hve bought nokia n97. all is well but i don't know how to change the time. actually im in pakistan and its time is gmt+5 but in my phone it shows gmt+6, so wht i wana know from u guys is tht how i can change it back to gmt+5.......

OLDER TECHNOLOGY. While the N97 (and N97 Mini) has some very nice features these phones are based upon older technology. The CPU is only 434MHz and the connectivity hardware is older and slower as well (no 802.11n Wifi and only 3.6Mbps HSDPA). And the OS is also last generation (S60) and not the newest Symbian^3 OS. So if you're looking for newer, faster Nokia then you may wish to look at the N8 series or await the N9. The N97 still has "life" to it if (IMHO) you can purchase at deep discount but don't expect cutting edge tech. And even with the N8 you're not getting 1GHz processor speed as it only sports an ARM11 680MHz CPU. Other manufacturers have already launched Android and soon-to-be Windows Phone 7 smartphones with 1GHz processors; and above 1GHz by 4Q 2010 or 1Q 2011. Use your 500+usd towards the newest fastest hardware.
