Guys, i have report few days a go about wi-fi on this phone wrong, but actually after i tested several times my phone, i found out, that N97mini is much better on wi-fi than n5800xm..,

n97 mini is onlty good for typying long message
, good ovi maps , it a bit slow, hate that it lacks gpu
if you are one of the guy who doeanot play game on his phone, then this phone is fine with him
very pocketable
it hang sometime with opera mobile, i am waitinf for next firmware update. The battery is not that good btw

i wanna buy a new handphone.. my first choice is n97 mini but after reading a lot of negative comments, i kinda afraid to buy it... izit really worth buying?? i hate problematic hp..
now i'm torn to choose between n97 mini or sony vivaz.. but i dont like sony n never use sony's hp b4.. help meeeee.....

Been using the n97 mini for 4 mos. now. The battery performance seemed to improved a bit. Today, the phone registered 10:27:10 of internet use and 11.65Mb of data received. The battery indicator registered 1/3 was used.

Its gud HP..but for the 434mhz its not fit with the spec..nokia should go for 600mhz+..sometimes my n97mini will hang and have to restart..very expensive for such hp..

I have done a proper research on the N97 original and the N97 mini phone. Addressing all your different concerns, curiosity, ignorance and the annoying habit of some who make strong influencing/damaging statements without knowing what the actual fact is, I have listed out the exact differences and some of the similarities between these 2 good phones produced by Nokia.
Differences:
N97:
-32GB storage (Expandable upto 16GB)
-FM transmitter (FM Radio is present)
-1500AH battery (Higher backup)
-Camera Cover (actually scratches the lens itself)
-Plastic Body
-Weight 150Gms
-Slightly Bigger

N97 MINI:

I would not make an outright statement regarding which between the two is better. Both have its own Positives and Negatives. It actually depends on the users needs, likes and dislikes. So every person would perceive it in a different way. But personally I like the mini because its easier to handle, less bulky and of course its priced lower now. At least a difference of 4000INR. Even though i would have preferred a higher memory and an FM transmitter, i would go for the mini as I have just simply fallen in love with it.
PS: Both have a few software bugs some of which are already fixed with updates and some more minor ones that I hope Nokia would fix through future software updates.
Resistive Touch Sreen versus Capacitive Touch Screen:
-Resistive touch screens can be used with finger, gloved finger or stylus whereas with capacitive touch screen, direct contact between skin of finger and the screen is a must which can get uncomfortable during prolonged usage.
-Capacitve screen on the other hand enables free flowing smooth operation and needs only a slight touch whereas in resistive, u need to use slightly more pressure and response is slightly jerky but too slight to actually hamper normal operation.

which free media player compatible with nokia N 97 mini is available on the net which can play all vidoe formats. Please help coz i downloaded number of softwares nut they aren't compatible.

I don't like the phone. It's two month since I bought it and it's already given enough trouble. Sycing is a headache as it deletes contacts without notice, no longer recognises music and now the battery is getting drained without using it, in less than a day. Very disappointing and the end of buying NOKIA as far as I'm concerned.

I have had mine for a few weeks now and couldnt be more delighted with it as i have been using the n95 8GB model previously and i always thought that if i ever got a new phone its gotta be better than my previous one and i am not too dissappointed however there are still quite a few faults with it for one its very slow on the Technical side, and the reception is very very bad whether ur calling abroad or home same thing. i have updated the software as soon as i got it as my fiancee she wuz using it abroad as she got it 4 me as i have asked her to pilot test it for a week or two as i have read negative comments and to be able to return it withing the 14days returns policy warranty etc the web internet explorer cannot do many things very slow in connecting to the wifi/wlan. cannot stream live movies from the web cannot download certain media formats which i think is pathetic from nokia as this is supposed to rival the Iphone...overall if i had a choice i would rate it at 5/10 and would definitely love to get hold of a new Iphone 4G when it arrives in stores this year. i would have got rid of the mini if it were not a b-day present Lol.overall a not bad mobile just needs lots of tweakings and alterations and there is lots of room for improvement.

This phone has the possibility for automatic scanning for wi-fi, so you just have to learn how to use it.
