a weeks ago, i've got the problem as same as yours..
then my brother tell me that i have to erase one of my friend phone number which is have double entry with same number...
yeah its true, i've just add my friend's number for twice...
after that, yeah it works, my friend's name show up when he call me..

Hi Just a question about the Nokia N97
i just brought a brand new handset, and when some one calls me the number doesnt come up on the screen, it just says slide. so i have absoloutly no idea who is calling me? even when i go into the recieved calls/missed calls and dialled numbers it comes up no name.. but its contacts i have in my phone who has callled me.
does anybody know how to fix this at all?
like what setting??

There are many peopls who are not using nokia mobile u can say them anty nokia,
and some peoples who have nokia mobiles but facing problems thay instals many unusefull data nad software etc and cause hanging.
while its a nice mobile i used
N82, N79, 5800, N97 but N97 Mini is better then N97
faster, sound quality is better, specialy with new firmware,
battery time is also good
I Like This Phone.

Its not often just by the theoretical knowledge of resistive or capacitive touchscreens that u determine the set to be good at touch or not. It's the quality that matters.
For instance, both i-phone and corby uses capacitive but the iphone is more responsive. Same goes in the resistive screen- samsung jet more responsive than 5800.
A good quality resistive screen is better than cheap crappy capacitive. I personally like resistive because it gives me more option to create a touch of my own through stylus,plectrum,toothpick,etc...lol unlike capacitive which requires finger touch.
So, its about the quality and choice more than just discussing the differences between these two technologies that matters and in that respect n97 mini is good at touch. It's my personal opinion.

well, have been using mini for more than 2 months and after hearing so many bad reviews, i think those people dont really know how to use the phone.. i mean the phone is one of the awesome looking handset thts available out there.. the metal covering makes it look so much elegant than n97. it has all the advantages of n97 plus its way better looking than the plastic looking n97(personal opinion). the only problem i have wit this phone is tht it heats up quite alot, especially if ur using apps like games, navigation..

Mini is write, resistive screen work fine at new but day by day it lose its sensitivity.
