Anonymous, 09 Nov 2009what's in the box? also,could you tell us the software ver.... moresure, comes with headphones, charger (AC10x), data cable, cd, stylus. only thing different, u don't get a phone pouch which came with the std n97. the software version is v10.0.020. hope this helps!

Hi All, does anyone know if one can assign different SMS Alert Tone to different contacts in N97 Mini?
or which models of Nokia have this feature? please, i really would want to know this before I buy one. i hope someone can help me.

stephanie, 09 Nov 2009i'm still undecided on this phone. is it better than an iph... moreI've had it now for just over a week, and I love it. Looks like they got the software bugs sorted. Everything works fine, and the keyboard is sweet. Is it better than an iphone? Well, the camera is better, and I like the resistive touch screen (it's easier to 'click' on the links when web surfing, especially if they are small). I think a lot of people prefer capacitative touch screens though).
The live homescreen widgets are great. The interface is still not as smooth as an iphone, I think, but there's not that much in it.
There's not as many apps, though to be honest there are so many apps on the Ovi store, with more appearing all the time, that I don't have enough time to browse through them all as it is. Plus there are loads of other apps floating around on the net.
I think bottom line it comes down to whether you want a real keyboard or not. For me, that really seals the deal. If you need to write stuff (like emails or comments on web pages like this) then the n97 wins hands down.

I have own a n6110 for 2 years, decided to change to a new phone. so went down to cuppage centre to have a look @ n97 as was nearby. I was very lucky to have a feel of the life set of both n97. N97 mini is cherry garnet and N97 is white. with both phone on my hand, they wheigh almost the same although on spec mini is lighter by 12g. Mini feels more metal and N97 feels more plastic. Size wise I still like N97.

Does it find the satellites fast just like in other nokia models (N82 etc)? The predecessor n97 hade a faulty constructed gps-antenna but is this better in the n97 mini?

Just got the N97 mini. Price is MYR 2,350 for a Zitron set (original warranty). The phone looks more optimized than the n97. Software is more stable and sound quality is great. Really slim and nice feel. Loads of applications from Ovi Store. This is why i got the n97mini as compared to Omnia HD since there is no proper s60 applications you can download for samsung.
Besides, the size does matter and the new brushed metallic colours look awesome especially the cherry garnet. The Raoul edition is launching around mid Nov which will come with additional accessories.
My vote goes for n97mini, Satio and Xperia X2. Best phones for 2009.
