i have been using the mobile almost for a year and half and i was totally contented but recently i am experiencing some difficulties with the battery i.e it lasts very short.
Is there anything to be done?

I have used the N97 mini for 2 years now and I can tell you it is an exellant phone. There is nothing I have wanted to do on it that I have not been able to do. I just took a HTC PRO 7 back to the shop for a refund because it was rubbish when the qwerty keypad was opened the menu stayed on its side what is that all about? So untill someone comes up with a qwerty slide phone that fits in your pocket and dose everything from bbciplayer to free satnav to fast browsing (Opra) to updated on the go Email all in a slick little laptop style phone I am going sim only deal and going to get cheep calls/internet on my lovely to use N97 mini

N.97 mini is beter than that of 5800xp m.faster than thta of 5800,coz of low cpu comparing to android or others latest phones its bit slow thts all....................

I agree with you that it does not look fast and bla-bla-bla when you first bay from shop...but real symbian users fix this problems later by hacking and modifying the firmware...!
We now use the ported nokia Belle browser on N97mini and N5800xm or opera, bollt, UC-browser that blows your android away considering that so called "slow CPU".
N97mini is like having more than just laptop on your pocket, it has fine cameras, free GPS, STEREO Speakers buddy and beautiful qwerty keyboard that you android it just does not have at this quality...it's really productive and it work's!
I have try my brothers SGII few days, speed and flooding screens looks great, browsing nada...very often crash, and crash when ever is something important to write comments on blogs and when i was dowloading on background so it was annoying, only one from twenty or more attempt to d-load i made...and now you can offer me not one, but two SGII or two apple...i will not give my N97mini for them...

N97 mini is one of the worst phones ever with very slow cpu and not enough ram and very unsensitive screen and very bad/slow browser! Nokia make good phone shells/casings but Nokia always have outdated bad hardware inside their phones! N97 mini is also too expensive because today even Galaxy S is less expensive! And if you must have a hardware keyboard then you should buy SonyEricsson Pro, even though that is actually a rather bad option but definetly very much better than N97 mini!

lol..those who say phone is bad...do u even own this phone or just blah blah!!..lol i own this phone and i still like the way it handles.and this phone get some problems....but i wanna say...if u know how to use a smartphone ..u can sort it out with ease and no problem at all lol....those who dont own..dont experience the true potential of a cell phone and just google about it and write random thing here just coz they cant buy it..or they dont have it ..and thats the fact

Ok lets accept d fact that android is way faster than symbian but lets check which mobile brand usually goes along with 99% of mobile applications that can be downloaded from web? And also think about the availabilty and pricing of the parts...well if ur bill gates or as rich as he is you wouldnt care for that....so its nokia and my n97 still rulezzzz!

I live in Trinidad & Tobago (in the Caribbean) and I know for a fact that the firmware update has been out for a while but when ever I "check for updates" it comes up with no new updates. I know Nokia releases these things in waves so some get it before others but this is ridiculous. Is there anyway to download the update to my computer and update manually?

It stop working af... morei can see that u probably google it too. if you owned the phone you would see that it is one of the best resistive touch screens out. i own it and i know this for a fact. the thing is its inconsistent, because in some situations like using the web or music player it is really gud but then if im playing a third party game i need to press alot harder. its not as good as a capacitive touch and that shouldnt be expected.

Who the ass,dog,pig,made it he might woul... moredid u even own this phone or did u just google bad reviews on it. this is wayyy better than sum random china mobile. 5mp camera, 8gb, tv out and Symbian isnt the best but its better than the piece of crap OS u get in China mobiles. Android is the best and its all this phone is missing along with better battery handling a faster cpu and of course a capacitive touch screen. Nokia is great!!!!...

the best i would say very good phone and the problem is that memory should be increased to 16gb like n97 thn it would be better and the phone memory is very bad the only disadvantage

Friends, the touch screen is not good... It stop working after a few months even if there is no damage... you can check it by searching in google....
