My service got bricked by the August patch as well.
I sent it to HMD, since its their fault.

They wanted 173€ to fix the issue they caused.

Dont buy HMD/Nokia !

    NOT ADVERTISED/REVEALED BY VODACOM RSA even though this tablet uses a SIM, it cannot make or receive phone calls, It cannot make or receive any SMS/MMS
    Basically a WEAK tablet

            Latest August Android security patch bricked my T20. Got stuck in reboot loop. Rebooted after about a minute of starting each time. Did manage to do a s factory reset and still happened, so couldn't even get the new logins or anything. Outside of warranty now.

            This follows the screen falling off just weeks after purchase, being replaced on warranty by what was obviously an inferior screen.

            That and Widevine 3 made this a very poor purchase. Will never buy Nokia again.

That happened to me too don't panic the tablet is fine.

Same thing happened to my Tab T20 and my cousin's T20 tablet as well, after the update. Even the display tint changed to orangish, with no option to change that tint. And the battery drops really quickly. Also just like you are saying, it shuts down without warning as it reaches 30-40%.
                            This is really disappointing how HMD Global and Nokia are deceiving their users by ruining our devices with updates.
