Nokia teases for May the fourth, confirms global launch timeframe

“May the fourth” is an unofficial Star Wars holiday that was made up by fans with the earliest records of the pun’s usage dating back to 1979. Even Lucasfilm, the company that created Star Wars, has fully embraced the “spirit of the fandom”. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk Nokia.

Nokia released a Star Wars-themed teaser that featured all four upcoming Nokia devices, including the rebooted Nokia 3310. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are chilling with Andy the Android robot when they start getting shot at. The Nokia 6 comes (as if Darth Vader) and says “I am your father”. That’s when the Nokia 3310 says “I AM THE FATHER OF YOU ALL!” before another device growls like Chewbacca.

Both in YouTube comments and on Twitter, Nokia has confirmed to commenters that the Nokia phones will launch globally between May and June of this year.

The UK won’t see any Nokia devices until later in June. Spain is getting the 3310 on May 15 while the EU will get it sometime in May. Right now, Nokia hasn’t committed to any specific launch dates as to avoid upset fans, good call.
