GREAT NEWS!!!!!
upcoming nokia X7 has neodynium
speakers which i surf on the net and
find about neodynium-
Neodymium is actually a rare earth
metal used for making magnets. It is very lightweight and is used in making
high performance car speakers/sub-
woofers. Ideal for mobile phones due
to light weight. Normally speakers are
usually made of Iron Ferrite magnets
which are supposedly heavy and performance not too great. Final
words, the advantages of using
neodymium are great performance in
a light package.
Why am I excited about this? As a
music enthusiast, I have always dreamt of great speakers on a mobile
phone. Actually in our part of the
world, its quite a trend, people actually
show off their phone’s loudspeaker capabilities.
Nokia always seems to silently slip
hardware like these into their phones,
for ex : the NFC and more recently the
HD voice capability (corresponds to
the MEMS mic chipset ). Why don’t these get a mention when the phone’s actually releasing? Even this
Neodymium stuff, though sounds too
geeky, won ’t probably get publicized. But Apple, one fine day, will come up
with exactly the same stuff by giving it
a marketing term like “cochlear speakers ” and they will actually make people talk about it. My point is, Nokia
should start publicizing their
strengths, that’s it. So Guys, tell me. Do you think this kind
of feature is important
enough to be publicized in a music
centric device?

gurvinder, 07 Jan 2011how far will we have to wait for 5 inch touchscreen phone f... moreIf i have the count right, it is two times
that this phone has been leaked and
how !
First time it played NFS shift, the next
time in the hands of our great Eldar
Murtazin, yes i am talking about the yet-to-be-announced Nokia X7.I am
Hoping we can see it in MWC 2011? What we have to notice in both these
leaks, are the loudspeakers(see those
4 grills on the sides ?) since it is going
to be a music centric device. It was
initially rumoured to have four
speakers, but numerous sources said it has only two speakers, but nothing
is confirmed yet. Not so long back, I came across this
very interesting tweet from a Spanish
Nokia employee which read : ” @addiermedina: #Nokia #X7-00 Bocinas con Neodimio Nd2Fe14B
incrementaran el sonido en 135%
comparado con #X6 “ If you want a quick rough translation ,
it says that the X7 has Neodymium
speakers and it has a sound
advantage of 135% comparing the old
X6, which we know, has one of the
loudest and clear mobile phone speakers, right? Lets come to the
interesting part: Neodymium. After I saw that tweet, I wanted to
know: what ’s so special in Neodymium? Googled it, did some
research and hence my findings : Neodymium is actually a rare earth
metal used for making magnets. It is
very lightweight and is used in making
high performance car speakers/sub-
woofers. Ideal for mobile phones due
to light weight. Normally speakers are usually made of Iron Ferrite magnets
which are supposedly heavy and
performance not too great. Final
words, the advantages of using
neodymium are great performance in
a light package. Use all the adjectives you want , loud,
clear,… etc you can call it awesome even. Why am I excited about this? As a
music enthusiast, I have always
dreamt of great speakers on a mobile
phone. Actually in our part of the
world, its quite a trend, people actually
show off their phone’s loudspeaker capabilities Now, my rant : Nokia always seems to silently slip
hardware like these into their phones,
for ex : the NFC and more recently the
HD voice capability (corresponds to
the MEMS mic chipset ). Why don’t these get a mention when the phone’s actually releasing? Even this

and not 100 % proven) is important
enough to be publicized in a music
centric device?

Great machine!
Very nice for games but one question, can it do a phone call or is just like other Nokia phones with useless batteries, always loosing signal, shutting down and with ridiculous ergonomics to use as phone like Ngage?

davidcopperfield, 10 Dec 2010nokia is better... blackberry sucks....more application mor... morei agreeee!
BTW, nokia dont really compete with motorola, samsung, or SE, a branded phone should also compete with china pruducts, and they need to cut off some performance ^^

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2010lol so you mean amoled, better processor, graphic accelerat... morebetter processor than other nokias, yes, but worse procesor than anything else out there. this low res display makes it a stupid upgrade to anything. as much as i hate samsung and dont trust samsung products, i think i would take a wave over this anyway. very hard to choose between two evils, but nokia is currently on the bottom of the line in most price ranges, esp midrange and up.
640x360, Arm11 processors, thats so 2007, look at the calendar, isnt it almost 2011? Arm 11 for 2011? ahaha, ret@arded nokia...

daniel, 16 Dec 2010what are you talking about, the X7 has a better Camera, a f... moreYou don't know what I'm saying. What I meant is that if someone's getting the X7 (having previously got a X6), up to 32GB micro SD ain't gonna cut it, it'll be a lousy upgrade no X6 owner would buy. Up to 32 GB micro SD alongside 32 GB of internal memory would be better.
At least the X6's successor should have the memory part of that phone.
If Nokia could add 16 GB of internal memory in the N8, why not they add at least 32 GB of it in the X7 for those X6 owners who wants a new X-series upgrade, shame, Nokia, SHAME.

Anonymous, 14 Dec 2010Hmmm......, it looks like the rumored X7 is a bit wider but... morewhat are you talking about, the X7 has a better Camera, a faster processor a larger screen with clear back technology and it's also AMOLDED it also has Symbian^3 and 3D graphics accelerator which the X6 never had. this has HD recording which the X6 never had either, i could go on all day.

Hmmm......, it looks like the rumored X7 is a bit wider but thinner than its released predeccessor the X6. Also the specs of the X7 is a bit worse than the X6 except the ClearBlack display technology and its AMOLED screen.
A high-end X-series phone that can use up to 32GB of micro SD memory? Please, Nokia, I thought X7 is going to have at least 32GB of internal on-board memory. What a lousy successor to the X6, Nokia.
