It's a surprise to me that XR21 is completely out of stock in US and Australia at the moment, just 2 months after release.

I came across on Amazon the first review from the US.

Crazy title I know but hear me out…I purchased from Nokia directly but wanted to review here on Amazon. I’m coming from the XR20 and no, the 21 is not the latest and greatest in hardware or even a massive upgrade from the XR20. The 6gb RAM is the same and middle of the road overall spec wise but more than enough for me… the snapdragon 695 isn’t a beast but is an upgrade over the 480 on the XR20 and is more than adequate for everything but heavy gaming. The screen, especially with the 120hz refresh rate is nice. It’s not AMOLED but smooth as can be. Camera is also better and overall decent to really good depending on the environment. In well lit areas I think most people would be pleased. In darker areas (with night mode) it’s not the pixel but it’s not bad either. I’d say pretty good overall. Recently went to a concert and some of my pics were right there with my friends pixel 6a, maybe not quite as sharp but barely noticeable. Battery is crazy good. Charged it Sunday to 100 and didn’t charge it again until Wednesday night. Was I using heavily…no. Was i using it however? Yes. But what makes this phone special however is it’s durability…therein lies the innovation part to me. We’re outdoors alot…rain, snow, skiing, camping, beach etc etc and this phone will provide you with peace of mind unlike anything else…even its ability to withstand extreme temperatures just in case you forget it outside in the winter or in the car in the summer and while I’ve yet to drop it…the aluminum build (under the rubber casing) is solid. Gorilla glass victus is the best you can get. IP 68 and IP 69 is just awesome and means you don’t need to worry about rain and then some. Only thing I miss from the XR20 is wireless charging because if you do get it wet, you’ll want to be sure that the charging port is completely dry before plugging in (didn’t have to worry about that really on the XR20). So no not the greatest spec wise but incredible and perhaps the best in terms of durability; thus if you want a really good phone that offers best in class durability (that doesn’t look silly) this is it. After all these are mobile computers that we take everywhere we go. Life happens…rain, spills, drops etc. You shouldn’t have to worry about it and you won’t with this. If anything changes I’ll update this review of course but as an XR20 owner prior I’d be surprised.

Android 13 update is now rolling out for the XR21... the phone should have launched with 13 but at least it is something.

At the end, it is all about taste. Some pics come out great even with hdr auto, look highly processed but still great, well, not for everyone of course.

I am fairly competent with photography and tend to shoot RAW and post-process, but the X30 is still a big letdown considering it has OIS and a large sensor. A shame because it is very close to being ideal in most other aspects.

I have seen some camera samples taken with the G42 and they look good considering the price and sensor, so I am hopeful HMD Global have actually found their footing with their image processing algorithms at last.

But yeah, the cam is no quite there for point and shot when hdr active, so i presume that that's the pireview they are talking about? Not sure about the PureView branding, maybe it is software related only rather than both hardware and software related.

You now get a Nokia 3310/2660 with the XR21 in The Netherlands, UK, Germany, France, Spain, costs €599 and £499 respectively.

'Eco-friendly to its core – equipped with our best PureView photo experience to date.'

'The best PureView photo experience yet. Delivers stunning ultrawide-angle shots and sharp, vibrant nighttime snaps.'

HMD are obviously trolling, because the X30 is in dire need of an update to the daylight image processing and HDR.

The biggest surprise about the XR21 from my use over the last month (via the 'Circular'subscription service) is the main camera is probably the best effort from HMD for many years in terms of colour accuracy and white balance. I honestly prefer it against the X30 in daylight even though the latter has 'PureView' branding and OIS.

HMD should continue to use DX+ glass on their camera housings because it does actually make a meaningful difference in terms of optical clarity.

The biggest weaknesses of the XR21 are the TFT display which is not bright enough in direct sunlight (and has poor reflectivity), and the terrible haptic motor. It would be much easier to recommend if these issues did not exist.

India receives though a lot of discounts that never happen in EU, or rarerly happen. I do not necesserly mean Nokia devices discounts, more like in general.

I noticed that, in the US, XR21 was released early June with only one colour (midnight black) since. It's a unlocked version.

The price is $499 + free shipping inside US + 10% off for early birds, which is lower compared to UK/EU.

Another thing is, this time, Nokia doesn't sell XR21 through Amazon. You'll only find a link to the US Nokia store when searching for it on Amazon.

There is just no way Nokia would neglect India market. Considering how XR21 is a delayed product with Android 12 onboard, it's possible that something like XR30 with Android 13 is coming to India. Just my 2 cents.

Nokia fan, 30 Jun 2023I don't know why they have not yet released XR21 in In... moreLook at all the discounts India gets from Nokia. X30 went down from 50000 rupees to 37000. A little bit more and X30 and G60 will be similarly priced and nobody will buy G60.

I don't know why they have not yet released XR21 in India, a market of 1.4 billion people.

Do you think they have production problems or they'll introduce a different version/model?
