      I bought this device 2 weeks ago and so far I am happy. What I think:

      Pros:
      - Design looks very premium, especially the matte sides.
      - Nothing UI is awesome for the people who love monochrome look, and they have cool widgets. Absolutely no bloatware. Smooth animations.
      - Battery life is amazing.
      - I don't think Glyph leds are just a gimmick, but they also shouldn't be a decision factor.
      - Fingerprint reading is quite fast

      Cons:
      - It is bit too slippery without case
      - It is too easy to take accidental screenshot when locking the screen via power button because of the volume buttons location.
      - Not having e-sim was holding me back, but it is not really a blocker to me, it has 2 sim slot anyway.
      - No telephoto lens is another bummer for me, but otherwise photo quality is nice.

          Very happy with this phone. Everything is fast and snappy, UI is nice and minimal, battery lasts for almost 2 days based on my usage, no preinstalled bloatware that you'll usually find in android phones. Great phone to buy if you can get it at a discount.

            And it's not like you're even going to use 8+ gen 1 to its maximum anyways.

Worser hardware is always worser hardware. You can't make a last gen chip any substantially better than a current gen one. NP2 is all marketing hype and mediocre hardware. Design is a waste of money too. Just imagine NP2 with SD 8G2 and better cameras if not for stupid LEDs and clear glass backing that does nothing.

One UI 6 on the other hand has some complaints about lagging even popping up at the top. So much for 'purely an assumption'
