Very disappointing the unit which I bought had dust particles trapped inside the back glass which shows the quality control measures is not up to the mark and I had to send the phone back.
This is the second phone after Nothing Phone 2A and CMF Phone1, from Nothing and never expected this.

I have been using the Nothing Phone 3a for a week now. I came from Samsung A52. My old phone is still good but the charging port and maybe battery need to be replaced for it to last longer
These are the flaws that I find:
Type face (people usually call it 'font'): I thought any texts would have the same type face but some of the big texts are still in a Serif kinda type face
App Drawer: Apps are arranged into folders automatically and we can't customise this arrangement. It sucks because there are some apps I wouldn't want people to notice when I access the App Drawer. So I had to create and customise my own folders on the home screen. I don't like to have so many home screen pages
Camera: The camera struggles A LOT in low light situations. It smoothes out all textures. My A52 can perform better actually for this part
I would say the most noticeable difference would be the UI on Nothing vs Samsung. Samsung really pampered their users with their One UI. But if you don't really care about that, Nothing Phone 3a is definitely a better choice compared to A36. IMO, 3a's rival should be A36 and 3a Pro's rival would be A56. In my country, Samsung A36 is 200-400 bucks cheaper than Nothing Phone 3a, meanwhile Nothing Phone 3a Pro and Samsung A56 are at a similar price

If it's less likely to be scratched it's easier to shatter it. So long story short glass is glass and no matter what glass they will use you can destroy it.

Like I have another phone with one of these latest gorilla glasses, it gets scratched after a few month of usage no matter how well I take good care of.
well, at least I see glasses getting slightly better than older ones that got cracked so easily.

Ordered Nothing (3a) online directly via Nothing website on 20th March 2025.
The offer stated, (free gift limited on first come first serve basis) for order by 21st March 2025.
a. CMF Buds (Dark Grey)
b. Phone (3a) Case
c. One year extended warranty
d. One year screen crack warranty
e. Shipping starts 22nd March.
got order confirmation on 21st March 2025. But the confirmation did not confirm if my free gift included. Meanwhile, Malaysia telco provider "Yes" offering the same free gift (a.) to (d.)
with RM88 per month telco plan. Basically you get a cheaper data plan for RM40+ instead of usual RM58. I could've walk away RIGHT NOW with a Nothing 3a with cheaper plan but Nothing Support team have not given a damn reply if free gift included or not and if can cancel my order.
Those device+data plans are running out of stock from Yes centers and my money is stuck with Nothing for 10+ days now WITHOUT A SINGLE REPLY after sending 3+ emails.
The device has very promising hardware, software and value for money. But the support service is ridiculously atrocious! To Malaysians out there, do not ever order direct from their website, just order through Lazada or checkout in store. There is a chance my order getting cancelled and I will not get the same telco device plan.
Will be looking for another device if thats the case. Just because of the standard of service support quality.

Using Nothing 2a for last 4 months, for the price it's a unmatched deal, the software is cleaner, yes! No bloatware, ads free experience like true flagships. This is why I bought this one. Yes camera performance consistency is down side! But believe me it's a banger deal who love bloatware free software experience!

It's not cheap, but also isn't too expensive either.
It's got an interesting design that others don't, and has quite good OS in it.
