Carol-, 03 Apr 2025Yep, the difference is, inteligent people learn from others... moreI use Oppo Find X8 Pro yet...
1050€ in December in France with 80W charger, and 55W wireless free
16 Pro Max 512GB costs 1729€, no charger !
X8 Pro kills the 16 Pro Max in nearly everything...in some stuffs it's even a bloody murder !
16 Pro Max's zooming capabilities are just ridiculous !
And with its 8GB ram, you will probably get castrated updates in less than 2 years !
Many friends have iPhone or Galaxy S and say my photos are awesome.
Think it's the same with Vivo X200 Pro or Xiaomi 15 Ultra

essential space is still rate limited ...? not stating any limits regarding a feature that nothings marketing was so focused on, it's just unacceptable.

The device can be a way to diverge from the big companies who copy each other, but I still find the phone missing some features that my Samsung A40 has:
-Headphone Jack which the issue is not the thickness compared to my phone which is thinner and has one (The size is not the issue but the trend of phones ditching it).
-The Island Camera is a design I don't like, with the phones that focused on the camera but makes the camera bump thick. It needs a case for it instead of making the phone the same thickness as the camera. With the phone instead of being separate.
-Despite the claims of no SD Card, it has a SD Card, but it's not displayed here unless it's somehow limited to certain countries.
Overall, I don't want to buy the phone, as the no headphone jack and the island camera doesn't make me want to get one. This is because of such needed features to have a product that can last me a very long time.
Maybe the next one can provide it as a way to not need the USB-C headphone jack, but probably not going to happen due to planned obsolescence and wireless connection being the norm and wired stuff being frowned upon.
But if they accept my concerns, I can recommend to look at some old designs to make the product better like iPhone 4.

The issue is not limited to Huawei, & each time manufactures tries to lock you up, should be aware (including wit iPhone).
They keep data, and nobody knows what they do with it (though according to Snowden, clowns often use it for malicious purpose).

To take something (ARM architecture) that is already there and do some writings around it doesn't mean you invented something, probably for you, not for the rest of the tech world. The never seen before camera was nokia 808 pureview, anything after were seen before and lame copys of the master. And AI output of phones cameras today just cannot be compared with real cameras, no matter how much delusion is in smartphone users this days. The 808 and 1020 were the only devices that were as close to a real camera output as it gets... the rest is history, and i couldn't care less, they are all mostly AI garbage with extreme sharpness and none existing shadows.

de84son, 09 Apr 2025If you are speaking in general, then yes, technology should... moreYou are totally right about that guy. He was just a fool trying to attract our attention with stupid demands. But eventhough it was an exaggerated demand, it was still partly justified because much older phones had great camera hardware for their time of release and today most phones at this price range come with crappy cameras with 2mp depth and 5mp macro sensors to fill up the camera island (for example the Samsung A56). This Nothing phone seems to have quite good cameras but I cannot say anything more because I haven't used one. The Nova 7 Pro phone I mentioned was the last with a telephoto camera in the Nova series until Huawei brought it back with the release of the Nova 13 Pro.

Just unfair for the previous guy to say this phone is not worth it because it doesn't have 10x zoom, like what is he comparing it to?

Perhaps, what you observe around yourself is true (or not) but trend is different depending on country you stay.
From what I observe from here, people who stick with Chinese or whatever devices will stick with it, then switch whenever the trend changes.

There's a lot of narcissists here doing a lot of plastic surgery on their face, showing themselves off on one of these, seems to be getting out of control.

"if a chinese company can get on it's feet with quality products and not copy pasting everything and not stealing consumer information or stuffing ads, then it has my full respect."
Have you ever used a Chinese phone? It is a serious question.
I have used a Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Self-designed chipset, never seen before camera setup and quality, smooth and stable UI etc.
Your opinion is based on western media sayings.

Bilal786, 04 Apr 2025Looks like a downgrade from Nothing phone 2 on processor sideThis is unpopular opinion, but I think having higher spec is actually not that great, causing heat issue such as latest SD Elite phones reaching 50 C while gaming in cool room temperature.
