Each of you has your own perspective Anonymous focuses on software, and SIRE on hardware and both views are valid. There's no need to argue over which is better; let's respect each other's opinions and keep the discussion respectful and constructive.

Good user experience is a basic pre-requisite and making it a selling point is manipulative.
An exaggerated analogy would be if the water management committee bragged about keeping the waters clean, that is the point.
It is sad that something so basic is presented as a selling point. This is the poor state of smartphones today, there are so many deliberately bad producta out there that people have significantly lowered their standards.
Google has a great foundational OS now, companies can offer the same thing with minor tweaks or even no tweaks at all and it will be clean, a company can (for the most part) only screw up the experience from there.
That was why Motorola was and probably still is popular, they don't go wild at it like everyone else. OnePlus was good at it too, keeping the clean base and adding subtle useful features, there's probably more companies that keep it simple, I can think of Sharp, SONY too keeps it relatively simple.
All it takes is intent.

S I R E, 22 Mar 2025Nobody asked anybody to justify their choice. It's a b... moreI wasn’t justifying anything—I was sharing a perspective. You came in calling a product “objectively bad” with “manipulative marketing” like that’s some universal truth, but it’s not. That’s your opinion, framed as fact.
For the record, it’s not even a product I’m emotionally attached to—I just see value in it from a user experience standpoint. Clean UI, smooth OS, minimal bloat—those things matter to a lot of people, even if they don’t to you. Specs are great, but if the software experience sucks, it drags everything down. That’s not some wild take, it’s just common sense for many users.
And honestly, the “you have no stakes in the company” line? Same goes for you. Yet you’re going out of your way to tear it down like someone personally offended you. If someone else sees value in something you don’t, maybe it’s not about them being sensitive—maybe it’s just not that deep.
We clearly prioritize different things, and that’s fine. But acting like your preferences are the only logical ones isn’t just dismissive—it’s plain arrogant.

Your urge to justify your choice is not my problem, it's your prerogative. People thinking everything is a personal attack to them is part of the problem. You have no stakes in that company.
Software and Hardware maybe equal parts of an equation to you but one can be a problem that can be fixed post purchase while the other cannot.
Hardware is objectively more important in my opinion, if you choose not to see the plain and simple logic in that, well then again it's not my problem.

I haven't seen any device with custom rom dying within a year, neither is there any proof of custom rom destroying hardware (other than so called "soft bricking"), in fact, there are many possible reasons for motherboard to fail (such as bad soldiering, bad heat management, bad construction or simply the user not handling the device roughly and so on).
Are you a sales rep from some company, who always wants to blame anything else but stuff from your own company or what?
Besides as far as checking the review, nobody is mentioning about build quality of this phone being great.
Yeah, I understand it's a new company and it costs them more to purchase materials in small qty though stuff such as removing charging brick based on "sustainability" bullsh*t political agenda sounds stupid to me
(About this, you don't have to agree with me, but I mean who the F do the politicians in the name of communism, think they are - to decide how we should be behaving based on unproven claim as materials are running out? nah, materials are running out only because the riches & greedy ones are taking over materials, causing shortage to average people)

S I R E, 21 Mar 2025Quit whining. By that measure OnePlus is a subsidiary if Op... moreWell, the UI and the OS play a very important role. There's a reason why I like Nothing, or even Pixel—it's just how clean and simple they are.
Chinese brands like Vivo or Xiaomi… their UIs just suck. There's too much going on, too many unnecessary things like their own app stores, custom features, and annoying ads everywhere. A spec sheet doesn’t really matter if the UI and OS don’t enhance the overall experience.
Using a Xiaomi just makes me feel drained—it’s messy, bloated, and overwhelming.
If you’re someone who prioritizes specs, then go for what you believe in and choose what suits you. But I personally value a clean, smooth phone experience—something that feels just right for me.
If the Nothing Phone is what I like, I shouldn’t have to justify that or be forced to like something else just because of specs.

Yeah software is important and by that standard Nothing is claiming we do the bare minimum and call it our selling point.
There are many users who like using custom ROMs from the get go, either to get a super lightweight start or to get a more familiar user experience across many devices. I started with Cyanogen, then Lineage, then Paranoid and like Pixel Experience with Nova Launcher the most.
This gets rid of apps I don't care to use like uninstallable google bloat itself, many phones
If you think note 12 doesn't run well then you are light not experienced user, anyone willing to spare 10-15 mins can get any android to run flawless as long as there's enough performance on the phone.
Nothing has a track record of skimping exactly on some of the more important specs. Fact that 7+ Gen 2 can outperform 7s Gen 3 is evident enough that they deliberately chose a weaker SoC, not just that they use UFS2.2 and USB 2.0.
Your noodlebrain not able to read anything but Xiaomi isn't my problem, I mentioned OnePlus and Motorola too.
With this weak of a specsheet, it doesn't matter how ling nothing can support the phone, it'll be as slow as you are in just about a year or maybe 2 at stretch.

F... moreYeah the software is pretty important, not only is the software better than those Chinese dogshits who is custom romming in 2025? Especially the average user, why would you buy a phone just to custom rom it from the start 😹 no one does that. Better than buying your poco x69 ultra max with 50gb of ram that dies after a year of motherboard issues. Altough i do agree the 3a pro is too expensive the 3a is better

There is absolutely nothing special about the conpany because they make products no different than any other company. Same cutbacks, even worse performance and internal specs, higher than competition prices.
Riding a one trick pony of software is dumb because some of the greatest ROMs ever made were produced by the Android modding community for free, they work for fun and they produce phenomenal ROMs and feature wihout asking for anything in return. Nothing OS is not far from stock Android and basically a glorified skin you can mimic and supass with legendary launcher like Nova Launcher Pro and Lawnchair.
Bluetooth audio always has and always will be trash, real audiophiles prefer analogue wired audio and it is vastly superior to any and all alternatives.
Nothing conpany might be "new" but Pei comes from OnePlus, this is not new for him and yet NOTHING phones are significantly worse than OnePlus phones.
They want to be the Apple of Android world and I am glad they never will be.
"Boohoooo Nothing is amazing but I own SAMSUNG products...boohoo you should mock this conpany even though I cry for this other company boohoo... Doesn't matter if I'm a hypocrite boohoo" that's what you aound like
Bad is bad, no matter who makes it.

Trying to mock super young company who is constantly improving is super smart right? Have you tried their CMF Buds Pro 2? For their price they are amazing. Clarity, bass, microphone. Even build quality is top notch along side their price tag. Similar products(airpods, galaxy buds) are similar~ but costs 3-5 times more depending on the region. Same goes for phones, they look amazing, their software is super decent and all of their phones are super smooth. For 3year old company I would say they are super promising. If you want to mock somebody so go to apple and samsung forums because their innovations stopped a little while a go(btw I own galaxy S23u. Can't upgrade to anything because there isn't any upgrades in the market lol) :)
