Nothing Phone (2) receives a new camera-focused update
The Nothing Phone (2) received its first update, which brought many camera-related improvements, in mid-July, before most people even had one in their hands. Now, here we are, only a few weeks later, and the company is already rolling out an additional update for its latest device.
This one also comes with a lot of camera-focused enhancements, and it's labeled Nothing OS 2.0.2. Let's see what's inside.
You get better photo clarity in 50 MP mode, better stability and contrast when recording videos, improved photo quality in low light, better contrast, improved bokeh, optimized clarity of faces in Portrait Mode, and faster HDR processing speed.
The selfie camera also gets enhanced photo clarity, improved quality in low light, and faster HDR processing.
New features include the phone shutting down apps when it reaches its temperature limit, a refined out-of-battery visual when the phone is off, and new, different icons added for each of the Nothing audio products in volume control.
The update includes the July 2023 security patches, a new haptic feedback strength when typing, improved responsiveness of the touchscreen and network reliability for "multiple global carriers", enhanced performance of some games when played in HDR, and an overall improvement in system stability.
Issues with Dirac Audio, Google Wallet, and Bluetooth Quick Settings have been fixed, as has one that caused 'double tap to wake' to be unresponsive. You won't be surprised to learn that "other general bug fixes" have been applied too.
To get the update, head on over to Settings > System > System Update on your Nothing Phone (2).
