Now hiring in Sofia, Bulgaria

Chavdar S., 14 November 2016

Come work with us!

Here at GSMArena.com, we strive to offer our readers the most accurate and up-to-date smartphone specification database in the world along with timely news coverage. The objective findings in our device reviews are appreciated by a worldwide community and are a product of rigorous testing and unrelenting dedication to quality.

We employ remote writers in several countries, but our headquarters is situated in Sofia, Bulgaria and the major part of the team works here full-time out of an awesome, spacious open-plan office in Studentski grad.

We are currently looking to expand our team of gadget-loving, number-crunching content creators by filling a few key positions. Telecommuting is not an option as we like to spend time working together, but we can offer flexible hours with a commitment of a total of 40h weekly in a fabulous office.

The pay is good and the job is fun – where else would you get to fiddle with the greatest smart devices before they are even announced and get to tell 90 million monthly readers about it?

The question is – do you have what it takes? If you do – hit us up – we’d love to talk.

Available openings:

We offer:

  • Competitive salary and social package.
  • Opportunity to work for a world-renowned industry-leading online media.
  • On-the-job training with immediate senior staff mentoring.
  • Pleasant working environment.
  • A position in a young and ambitious team.

Reviewer/News writer

The reviewer/news writer is a person who is responsible for creating the reviews and news content for our website. As such, you would be covering hot industry topics, as well as helping us develop new content areas and broaden our news coverage.

You would also be conducting various technical and usability tests and comparisons and even partake in video demonstrations. We would expect you to turn all the raw data and observations into a written review in a clear, concise and engaging manner.

You will not be alone in this endeavor. Producing content for GSMArena.com is a team effort so you will be working in close cooperation with your peers and superiors.

The position is ideal for people who are good at writing (and love it) and have a keen interest in mobile technologies. We value scrutiny as much as creativity and objectivity.

We expect the following minimum:

  • Proficiency in English (and we mean it!).
  • Previous experience in writing for publication or demonstrable writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting our (arguably reasonable) publication deadlines whatever it takes.
  • Web research skills.
  • High level of computer software proficiency.
  • Basic image editing software skills.

Bonus points if you possess any or all of the following:

  • Native-level English.
  • Established social media presence or experience in building a brand’s social media presence.
  • Experience as a proofreader, blogger, technical writer or a similar role.
  • Keen interest in gadgets and tech topics.
  • Knowledge of basic HTML formatting tags and the basic HTML structure.
  • Reading skills in other languages.
  • Above average digital photography or photography editing skills.

Please send us a CV describing your previous occupations, which you think qualify you for the job, and your contact details (including an IM address) at with the following Subject: JOB-EDITOR. We would also appreciate a cover letter describing your experience as well as why you are interested in working for GSMArena.

Videographer/Video host

With our new focus on creating high-quality video for the web, we are keen to expand our video production team with new team members and we have openings for both a videographer and a video host or anything in between.

The ideal candidate will be someone who loves standing on either side of the camera and someone who knows their way around producing video content for YouTube, including tracking video performance and promoting video content on social networks.

As a videographer, you will be tasked with producing creative product hands-on videos in studio or on location. You should be able to edit the video footage creatively and see through the entire process of its online publication.

As a host, you don't necessarily need a grasp of the technical aspects of shooting videos, but you should possess a strong presence in front of the camera and you should be able to turn our news and reviews into engaging video content. You should help us shape and adopt our very own style for product review videos. When you are not busy with that, you would be recording video voiceovers or you will discuss various hot tech topics from the mobile industry on camera.

We've only recently started exploring the potential that video content holds for presenting our work and it's still largely open to interpretation. You would have substantial creative freedom and you would be in a position to influence the direction and format of our YouTube presence.

Best of all, your work will reach a wide international audience through the already popular GSMArena.com YouTube channel.

Ideally, we are looking for someone energetic who can really own this content area and see through its expansion and development.

We expect the following minimum:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Previous experience in shooting and editing video or in hosting video productions or in recording voiceovers for video.
  • An energetic, self-driven person who is able to engage viewers on different levels.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting our (arguably reasonable) publication deadlines whatever it takes.
  • Web research skills.

Bonus points if you also possess any or all of the following:

  • Native-level English speaker.
  • Experience in leading creative projects.
  • Proficiency in operating a camera, studio lighting and photography gear.
  • Proficiency in creative video editing.
  • Proficiency in voice acting.
  • Experience as a video host or with standing in front of the camera.
  • A personal YouTube channel where you produce or participate in videos regardless of the subject.
  • Established social media presence or experience in building a brand’s social media presence.
  • Keen interest in gadgets and tech in general.

Please send us a CV describing your previous occupations, which you think qualify you for the job, and your contact details (including an IM address) at with the following Subject: JOB-VIDEO. We would appreciate a cover letter describing previous creative projects you've worked on as well as why you are interested in working for GSMArena.

Graphic Designer

We're looking for an experienced Graphic Designer who can help us raise the bar in the graphic layout and in improving the way we use graphics as a whole.

We need someone who would support our news writers, review editors, and photographers in the graphic aspects of the website content production.

You will be tasked with creating quick layouts, collages and templates throughout the day as needed but we would also expect you to provide creative direction on the type and style of graphics used by our contributors for the stories to be visualized beautifully while reinforcing the overall visual style of the website.

You should be able to produce inspiring and effective designs and layouts for the website front-end from concept through finished art with little direction from management by translating concept designs into effective visual communication.

We expect the following minimum:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • 3+ years of graphic design experience and demonstrable project portfolio.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting our (arguably reasonable) publication deadlines whatever it takes.

Bonus points if you also possess any or all of the following:

  • Native-level English.
  • Keen interest in gadgets and tech topics.
  • Above average digital photography or photography editing skills, experience with digital photography workflows and art direction for a photo shoot or a video production.
  • High level of computer software proficiency.

Please send us a CV describing your previous occupations, which you think qualify you for the job, and your contact details (including an IM address) at with the following Subject: JOB-DESIGNER. We would also appreciate a cover letter describing your experience as well as why you are interested in working for GSMArena.

If you have any questions before applying, don't hesitate to shoot us an email.
