nubia Focus Pro, Music, Neo 2 announced at MWC

ZTE subsidiary nubia already announced its Flip 5G and MWC but also had a few other phones to show out. There’s the camera-focused nubia Focus and Focus Pro, a budget gaming phone in the Neo 2 and the music-centered nubia Music.

As is the case with most smartphone announcements at MWC, ZTE did not provide specific pricing and availability details for all of the newly announced devices. We did get confirmation that the phones will be distributed across Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa.

nubia Focus and Focus Pro offer a 108MP Neovision main camera (1/1.67” and f/1.75 aperture) with an old-school camera-inspired dual-tone back design and a large camera island. Focus Pro also gets a sliding button on the side frame which launches the camera app in an instant. You also get a dedicated capacitive camera shutter. nubia Focus brings a 6.6-inch (HD+ 120Hz) display while the Focus Pro gets a 6.72-inch (FHD+ 120Hz) panel.

Both phones are equipped with Unisoc T760 chipsets paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage as well as 5,000 mAh batteries with 33W charging. Pricing for the nubia Focus is said to start from $199 but that will vary between markets.

nubia Neo 2 is a budget gaming phone that will launch at $199 featuring capacitive shoulder triggers, a 6.72-inch display (FHD+ 120Hz) display and a 5G-capable Unisoc T820 chipset with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

ZTE is touting a multi-layer heat dissipation system for optimal performance even during intense gaming sessions and a dedicated Game Space 2.0 interface. Neo 2 also brings Dual DTS:X Ultra speakers and a 6,000 mAh battery with 33W charging.

The large DTS-branded loudspeaker next to the cameras promises to be 600% louder than the speakers on your regular smartphone. ZTE did not provide a decibel figure here. The other neat feature are the pair (yes, 2) of 3.5mm headphone jacks allowing you to share tunes with a friend over wired headphones.

Nubia Music features a Unisoc SC9863A chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage and also boasts a 5,000 mAh battery. Pricing for the nubia Music is expected to start at $149.

If I was on a budget and my top priority in a phonevwas audio, I'd pick up a used LG G8 for 50$. It would sound infinitely better than this phone. If I wanted a camera phone, I would stop right there and buy an old DSLR.
