Hi guys, i've been using my Atom since December 2005. Although at first it's a bit slow, but O2 support team r doing really good job as in improving the system from time to time. I never think of changing the set from the first day i bought it although it was not that perfect yet. For those people who complains a lot over this smartphone, i can say that they r not 'smart' enough to communicate with their device. In my opinion, those people who r looking for smartphone, this is a good one to consider. although they r not 100% perfect, but they have strong support team doing refining job.

Andrew,
U might want to check your settings for GPRS & your message centre number. Alternatively, use the Auto Configurator. It will get settings from your Sim card.

You can dial ok with one thumb / one handed calls are ok and the voice tabs for fast-dial are good and work well.
You cannot however use SMS one handed - you need to use stylus to type messages.

Wait,
So you cannot use your thumd to dial using the keypad? You HAVE to use a stylus? That sounds strange and would be a problem for me.
I'm looking for small form factor so a slide-out keypad is not desireable, but I at least want to be able to dial with one hand.
Thanks

Vincent Wee:
You can't change the config. from landscape to portrait. I tried everything and it won't work. But other than that, the new ROM increased the performance by a lot! Thanks

If you do buy it tim - it does work well now.
+ wifi is good
+ phone quality is fine
+ battery life is pretty good 2+ days
+ its a PC ;-)
+ its tiny.
But - if you want it as a phone replacement make sure you can put up with SMS and text entry only using stylus - because you cannot use phone pad like on other PDA phones. Maybe check this out at the shop or look at other 'pda' phones with pop-out keyboards.
Performance now on this rom is fine for me speed wise. Much much better than before.

Thanks Allen I will check it out. Can't believe the price ranges on this thing.
My inquiry on where to by keeps getting deleted because there is no opinion. My opinion is that this unit looks very cool, yet expensive. I currently have a Panasonic x800 Symbian phone which is slow, takes terrible pics, doesn't have wifi, doesn' play MP3 native files, etc. I was looking at the Nokia N80 but it is VERY expensive right now, so I started looking at whatever unit would have wifi. That brought me to the PocketPC type phones. I've read up on the various HTC units, but this one looks like a winner for my needs, so if I will probably try it.

some said that it's worst for getting it because of the 1st rom that atom had. that time, atom was an unstable device. due to the latest update, that is april rom, the atom has improve a lot and fix all the problem. so i'll say it's quite worth it but it's only my opinion. ^_^
