I sent mine back and I'm not planning on buying atom anymore. Mini is great, Atom is below average for the price, my advice to everyone is to save the money and wait for better O2 products.

This is my opinion.
I've been using my Atom for 2 months now. Initially, I was upset with its performance, but after twice upgrading, I'm happy with it. For those who missed the 1st upgrade, if I'm not mistaken, you can directly upgrade to the latest ROM (refer O2 website).

Use the "File Explorer" to browse your music files. Choose your song, point&hold to it, select "Set as Ringtone"

For Wifi connection; go to Setting > Connection, click WiFi, go to Site Survey > Re-Scan, point&hold the connection available, click Connect. Start browsing. The setback is your Atom will find the stronger signal, if GPRS is stronger than WiFi, it will connect to GPRS.

hi, m here again, after i upgrade my ROM on this o2 atom,,everything go smooth and big different..
but now i got a problemms..i cant use chiense and even i install ce-star, i not allowed to use..
any software can use after upgrade ROM and run chiense?? please advice

Hi, I just got my new O2 Atom last week, and I performed the new update 20060123B1. The device work well, but I keep hearing some kind of static noise from the listening speaker at the top of the phone. This is my second Atom in 2 weeks, I sent the other one back also because of same problem. Has anyone else encounter this problem? Thanks

hi, i need some clarification pls. i am interested in getting a o2 atom very soon and i have a question to those who already owned this unit. If by the time i bought the unit n o2 has already released its third firmware update, do i update all three or just the latest? would appreciate if someone could help.

HI all, I'm considering purhaseing the Atom and have been waiting for the release, now that has happened, I'm not sure if I should get one or wait for the new sonyericsson. Can anyone help me as I'm a little worried with the Atom reviews. Help Please!!

Dear haj,
Tks for your response. I've managed to eliminate the cracking sound by turning off
the O2 equalizer.
Currently, I've problem on setting up the Wifi, the connection to my office wireless access point has been established, any idea how to set the connection in the O2. When I look at 'My Work' network card, no wireless card on the menu.

Thanks Tom for the update, I should try to update the ROM to the latest as you did. Currentl my ROM version 20060118.

I am in China now and the SP uses both 900 and 1800 bands. I did a test to restrict the Atom to 900 only and it worked pretty well, no dropped calls or anything else. So on my Atom at least, it supports 900 with the latest ROM 20060123.

Albert Lam,
Default application programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint & ClearVue will retain once you upgrade your Atom, but others will be lost. So, please synchronise with your PC before upgrading. mp3 as ringtone? refer earlier post.

Hi, i bought the xda atom in Hong kong. The Rom is still the old one and needs to be updated. Does it mean that after the upgrading i will loose all my applications in my phone , including outlook, word, excel and powerpoint. Is it a high risk to upgrade the phone to the new rom?
And i can't add the mp3 in my memory card as a ringtone.. anyone has a solution for it ?

Moti, r u sure by upgrading the rom would not enable the O2 Atom to be serve with 900Mhz band??
Need ur advice. Further, I having problem with the dropped call... always... 5 to 20sec.
The network provider do offer 900Mhz and 1800Mhz but without Edge, only GPRS currently.

hello wanted to worn everyone who plans on buying the XDA atom and use it on gms 900 mhz.
device rom updated till today 22.02.2006 will not support 900 mhz and will leave you with very poor voice quality and hangs off the voice calls every 2-9 sec.
this is a major issue that for now o2 did not fix and here in my country which is israel we can use with one of the gsm providors
if any one hears of a solotion please update here .
