          Hi !

I had posted on 25th Aug a problem I have been facing with my Internet explorer while browsing the net.

When I open certain sites (eg. ndtv.com ; indiatimes.com etc)and click on any link in that site, then the Internet Explorer closes by itself. Since then I have installed another browser (NetFront) and this seems to be working fine in all the sites incl the ones mentioned above.

Though I can live with NetFront, I would like to know why Internet Explorer is not working, where NetFront is working

I thought Internet Explorer, supposedly an integral part of windows, shud be working better than other browsers. I just wanted to know if there is something wrong with my particular piece or is it a problem with all O2 minis.

Could somebody who owns a O2mini and resides
in INDIA pls check out the sites I have mentioned above and let me know if they are facing the same problem in their handsets as well, so that I can take it up with the vendor who sold me this handset.

Would be grateful if anybody can help me out on this.

          THANKS A TON !!!

I have been using the O2 Mini for the past mth & I believe I have made the right choice. Was bored with my SE910i since I alrd had it for the past 9mths.After a week of testing out the O2 & noted its stability,I sold off my 910i.Have since bought a 1GB SD card & a Spectec WLAN card.No regrets!I have also tried converting DVDs & playing fr the O2.Aboslutely fantastic!Battery life,I must say is not bad for a PDA HP.U can just easily USB charge it after sync al ur day's input while u r on the PC.I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is still having 2nd tots about it!

I got problem with my O2 mini. Everytime there's an incoming or outgoing call, the network goes into searching mode..I cant call or receive incoming calls. But when I connect the charger, then it will work fine. I think the problem is with the battery, but it seems strange because even at 92% full it still doesnt work unless you connect the charger. Hope you could help. Thank you in advance.

                  Hi all,
When u look at both XDA II mini and Xphone II specification, there is no serious difference other than the obvious ones. Can someone please explain the different purposes of these two phones/PDA?
And is it possible to type a word document using a Bluetooth keyboard in both the devices?
                  Thanks in advance,
                  Jay.

I am toying the idea of buying a PDA phone (I currently have a Nokia and love its simplicity). My phone usage is quite heavy, and I see merit in combining a PDA with a phone. Thinkong of O2 Mini.

Quick question-how does the battery function with prolonged usage of Bluetooth (wireless hands free)? Would be grateful if someone can share their experience-thanks a ton.

I bought my mini 3 days ago, there is something very wrong with this phone!
When im on a call i can hear the radio frequency noise (like when you have a phone near a radio and here the buzz and beeps) my callers can even hear it. I work for a telco and tried 3 of our test mini's they all do it!
My concern is possible RF leakage which is dangerous and quite disappointing considering they should have tested this product for these faults.
I can take my phone back and have it replaced though an concerned that it will occur again considering the testing i have done.
Does any one else have this problem?

                            Cheers
                            Leah

                              Hey Chell,

A PDA Phone is not the same with a Nokia phone. A PDA is like a computer and requires to be consistently backed-up.

The reason why you have a External Storage Card (sd)is for you to back up your settings, registry, appointments, and contacts. You can even save your contacts and appointments to your Internal Storage.

I am frequently traveling and it is a must for me to back up my programs, registry, appointments, and contacts. Thus, I back this up using Sprite Program to my Storage Card (SD). It only takes less than 2 minutes to back your device up.

Also, install your CAB files (program installers) to your SD card just in case.

I tried to do a hard reset of my Mini while I was on the road and I didnt bring my laptop. I tried to restore my files that was backed up on my SD card using Sprite Backup and everything went back to the state when i made my previous Back Up.

Reading the manual is a must for tis phone. If you just require a phone for sending SMS and Photo's, grab the Sony Ericsson K750i.

with o2 mini, if the battery is flat, all my contacts, softwares, navigation everything is lost, and the phone becomes like a brand new phone. so i have to install everything and synchronise to laptop to start again, which is realy annoying,is this the problem with all the windows pds's???? or is this a problem with a back up battery.
for eg; u will never loose ur contacts when a nokia phone battery is flat,it is not the same case with pda's like spv m1000, m500, o2 mini, tmobile mda compact all r similar.

                                    Hey there guys,

I've used my dad's O2 which he bought a month ago (see his user opinion a couple of places down by the name "Guru"). Firstly, to start off, the phone is the epitomy of the word "classe". I mean, it oozes class when you just hold it. It is not as big and unweildy as the other O2s, but it is just the right size and also the correct size to woo the female buyers (an untapped market for O2 I believe).

The phone has a 1.3 meagapixel camera, and frankly speaking, the camera left me with a lot to be desired. I had expected a better resolution from such a camera. But, the sound left me mesmerized. I must say, the O2 mini has one of the best speakers I have ever heard. Kudos to O2 for the speakers and I do hope one of the O2 guys is reading this and doing something to imporove that dastadly camera.

The PDA functinality is very good, as you would expect with any Windows Mobile OS. I would frankly suggest that you put in a 1GB or 2GB card and use this phone as a media center for yourself. The phone gives you Clearvue PDF and PPT integrated with the phone which is very good. So, unlike other phones you needn't run around for software.

The software availability is also very good and you shouldn't have any problems finding the software of your choice. To put it simply, there is an absolute plethora of software available for the phone.

All in all, if you are planning to buy this phone, don't think twice. Just go out there and get it and trust me, you won't regret it.

Just received my Mini last month, as a my own birthday gift for myself. At first I was hesitant because of the previous bugs on the older ROM. Upon getting my unit, I quickly upgraded the ROM to 1.11 and its freakin great!

                                        Now, I have installed:
                                        1.) SPB Pocket plus 2.5
                                        2.) Microsoft Voice Command
                                        3.) Sprite Back up
                                        4.) Pocket Informant
                                        5.) MX Converter
                                        6.) Ringtone Pack

I have also paired my Mini with an Omiz Bluetooth Headset. Works like a charm! Also bought a mini stereo to standard stereo adapter so I can connect my own headset!

Now that I have this unit, there is no reason for me to rush back to the office and see my mails .... I set up my webmail to automatically throw by rule to my local Pop3 email.

Yeah baby! 10 fingers and 10 toenails up !
