So the guy from O2 didnt call me so i called again and spoke to a really nice woman who spoke to her manager. She called me back and after a chat she had with her manager I now have Co-pilot software on its way to me!!! She also gave me 1 month free data (unlimited) for all the problems.
I asked her how come she sorted it so easy and she said that her manager could see what happened and did the right thing!!!
I with other luck and hope to hear about other people who got what was promised!!!

ok BATGIRL, so why?, when i cancelled with vodafone and told them i was porting my number to o2 , they suddenly decided that they didnt want me to leave and that they would lick my ba**s if i stayed with them !
The point is that if they spent less time pi**ing people off at the end of their contracts ( and therefore losing them) they wouldnt have to spend money on 'free extras' to woo new customers!

UPGRADE.. doesnt really mean upgrading.. its just signing a contract for another 12 or 18month.

Mr D
read my post, all networks do it. they give phones free with free headset or a free printer or something free to get new people to join.

You people have to realise that o2 and any other network is a business and the whole point of been in business is to make money! They give handsets free to new customers to get more custom.
If your upgrading and you don't spend much then more than not you would have to pay for a new handset, if is a really good deivice.
Hipposniffer, you realised this when you were going to leave o2 they were going to charge you for the handset and it would be the same if you were with any other network.
Networks arn't going to give you a free phone every year, unless the phone isn't that great and unless you spend loads of money with them. At the end of the day they just want to make money out of us and thats how it works. The more you spend the more phones you can have free and if you spend pennies you get naff all! So just cancel and get a new contract and stop whinning.

The Phone
I have been very impressed with the phone, was a bit worried about it only having a 200 MHz processer as I also have the Exec which is 520 MHz.
The only thing that I can’t run on it is skype and that’s because of the processor.
The camera is great as its 2mp.
Wi-Fi works great.
Bluetooth does what’s needed.
Not having a keyboard is annoying but as I have the Exec I was spoiled with a good size one.
Software add-ons that have been done by O2, there is a today page add-on that will give you info about the battery, memory and memory card.
The jog dial and tracker ball take a bit of playing with but am happy with it, I don’t use the mouse function as I couldn’t get on with it!
Hope this helps, if you want anything specific just as!!!
One more thing, why didn’t they put infer-red on it???

Who cares about your service provider! Talk about the Orbit. How well does the phone work. Can anyone tell me if this is a good product?

My bills are not cheap and they told me I'm in the high teir of spenders, so they want to keep my business!!!
Point is that they sold the product on the basis that it had satnav, the least they could do is give me the satnav as promised!!!

Lol - put your hands in your pockets!! When you signed your contracts with O2 did it say on your contract that they would promise you a free O2 orbit when it was released or a free upgrade? That "free" upgrade is decided on how much you spend a month, why should you recieve a "free" Orbit and Sat nav if you are on a low monthly tariff? I paid £100 for mine! Still happy with that as I appreciate what I'm paying for, no tantrums needed!!!

sorted - the manager phoned back and having listened to the recording of the phone call agreed to send out the sat nav.
Jason, you have to perservere - i think they rely on most people giving up. I did phone them again this afternoon and they made another note. that's when the manager called back this evening.

Hi Carl, the moaning is about the fact that some people are getting the orbit with sat nav and some aren't.
Your deal sounds great, and if o2 offered that to me i would be happier. Instead my upgrade has been £99 for the orbit, no sat nav, 750mins for 17.50 a month on an 18 month contract.
its the way o2 are giving out different deals that confuses and annoys me!

after having a day to think about o2 's outrageous demands for a supposedly FREE upgrade to an orbit from my mini s, i have decided to say bo@+*cks to em and go back to vodaphone!!
BUT, just as i was going to pick the phone up and let o2 HAVE IT !!i remembered why i went to o2 in the first place!
It was because vodaphone did exactly the same when i wanted an upgrade with them. (joke upgrade demands)
The funny thing was that when i got my PAC code off them and said my farewells ,every day for the following week ,they called me to beg me to stay!
SO what am i to do? cos they are ALL the same at the end of the day ! T***S !
RIGHT i have had my rant now !

Is the Orbit Bluetooth v.2? Does it support A2DP? One review stated it didn't but a user guide said it did.

I just upgrade my phone, here is the story, o2 say if I wanna upgrade my phone, I need to pay £199.99, plus £45 a month, for 12 month, and because I am select customer, they offer me just £35 for 12 month.
I said you must be joking, I like to have my PAC number please. and after the long discution. I end up paid £99.99 for the phone, and every month I have 500 min, 100 text and only £17.50 a month for the next 12 month. no softwear tho. but never mind, coz I can get cheap softwear on ebay. and I only paid £310 for total plus a softwear. no bad.
so guys, please tell them you like to disconnect or PAC number, other wise , o2 will never ever give you a good deal. and that's how I get my good deal every year with o2.
because at the end of the day, there is too much comptition, as customer, we reaaly need to compaer the price before we get rip off.

Heres the latest all people looking for the Orbit.
Just spoke to O2 and was put to there retentions dept and was told that I have to still have to £99.99 for the upgrade and on top of that wait for it, if I want the 'FREE' sat nav software I would have ordinarily have to pay an additional £99.99 but as I am select customer they will give me 25% discount......what a bunch of ???????
o2 just dont know how to keep their customers happy and keep them with o2, it appears that they would rather let their customers go elsewhere.
