confused, does this phone come with GPS software? O2 online says Free CoPilot SatNav software worth £99.99. Look at this link : https://shop.o2.co.uk/phone/O2/XDA_Orbit
Anyone who got the phone, please confirm.

Not too impressed so far - feel i've been ripped off with the 'free sat nav' sales pitch - there is no sat nav with the package.
Also, no case either.
Seems to be less user friendly than my old xda, so i will be taking it for a test drive and may send it back...

I work for O2 so I've used all of the Xda's apart from the 1st and I'd say thats its got the best sound quality as a phone out of all the uk released Xda's. Comparing it to other handsets I'd say that the sound quality is still not on par with a "normal" handset. Ive got a Sony K800 and a W950 and its not as good as the K800 but better in call quality than the W950.
Using it as a phone always takes a bit of getting used to, but it has a virtual keyboard which is brought up with one touch of a button and you can use your fingers to dial the number. It has smart dialing that recognises the number you are typing in and lists all possibilities in a box, tap one of these entries and it dials the entry straight away. Bringing up the contacts is a one button press, scroll to the contact and press dial, no diff then using a normal phone.
I had the Xda mini S as my own handset and I'd say that the Orbit is better to use as a phone than that, just because of the feel, slimness and smaller size. It no real size difference than the W950
This isnt written as an O2 employee selling their phones, just someone who is lucky enough to "really" try the phones before I buy them.

Leaving the PDA part aside for the moment....to use as a phone - is it as good as a normal mobile? Is the ring volume loud? Is it clear when speaking and also listening? What about the speaker phone - is it loud and audible? How does the overall phone functionality compare to standard mobiles?

Quality has been pretty good so far. Not alot of moving parts so no flimsyness there. The only bit that is a bit annoying is the battery cover is a bit flimsy but I feel if thats all you can pick up then youre looking for problems. Seems to be running ok too but for the last two days I've only run it as a pda and phone, I've not installed any thing demanding. No soft reset yet!!

What is the phone quality like on the Orbit? I had an XDA for a while last year and it wasn't any good.

ohh I can't return my w950s and we have 2 of them. You are right. I sit in my car and can't even see the screen to make a call. Is the O2 orbit really slow speed. My o2 atom exec was fast enough but kept freezing every 1/2 hour. They couldn't fix it so refunded me.

Yeh as much as it hurts me to say it, the W950 isnt good at all. A great idea but the screen is sooooo washed out in daylight. I took it back and picked this up. Enjoying as far!

Some say the speed of the Orbit is ok. I had the new Atom Exec with 512Mhz and it lagged sometimes. So the Orbit must be much worst. What a beautiful looking phone though. I have the Sony W950 for 2 weeks now. What a useless peice of junk, the keypad is flush and very hard to use. I'd buy the Orbit but afraid it might be too slow, can't even run skype on it.

I have just opened the box to find that the o2 xda orbit does not have a case with it, i called them and they (after some time) are sending me out a free case. I am waiting to speak to the guy at o2 who told me about the tomtom6. So far system seems to run at a good speed but havent got it running fully loaded as i dont have the transflash card yet.
Anyone know of good software, I use SPB at the moment but am looking for other kl things!

Right.....
The Xda Orbit does not come packaged with any form of GPs software in the UK. This means that if you buy or upgrade to the Orbit you will not receive it inside the Orbit box. O2 offer a software package called Co Pilot for a maximum of £99.99, if you are on a higher monthly tariff then there is a discount scale for this software. The Co Pilot package is only available for purchase at select O2 stores, all other stores will have to order it through "Accessories Direct" which is an internet based order system (you pay instore) and the software package will be delivered to you. You do not "have" to buy Co Pilot but you do have to equip the Xda Orbit with some form of PPC based Gps software. I am running Tom Tom 6 quite happily

I spoke to a person from o2 shop today, he told me that if I wait it til jan, I wont pay as much as £99.99 for upgrade, and I might get half price discount on the monthly payment.

The orbit does come with sat nav its only free with sat nav on some deals.
Not every one wants Sat Nav so to help with costs you don't have to pay for the extra software. If you already have software you can run it on the Orit. It does have GPS on all Orbits just not the sat nav software. Ditto with Wifi It can use WiFi for VOIP but dosnt come with it onboard.
