In response to Martin, I thought that was a problem to start of with but you actually have to push the card in with a key or pen or something then it will click in, it goes quite far in.

After previously purchasing a 02 X2 and after having 2 faulty ones changing to a samsung when I purchased the O2 XM a year later i was abit warey. The mp3 feature is great and the speakers quite loud, theres no point in getting a extra sd card for it though cause u can only record 9 seconds of footage in a go which is really silly. Battery life is quite poor 2 days use max before it needs charging.
Games are sort of 3d but to be honest even though there good grahpics they have terrible gameplay and to be honest bring back snake!
Mines actually faulty believe it or not! Took it back to 02 shop and they said they would have to send it a way for repair but they dont give out a loan phone so going to be without a phone for a week. (Keeps turning itself of randomly.
nice phone just seems very rushed to me, no bluetooth, lack of features, crap battery, camera not brilliant. OVERAL: DISAPOINTING

Bought an O2 XM from O2 shop today as present for my daughter's birthday.
The Memory Card does not seem to click into place. The Memory Card rubber cover does hold the card in. If you pull the cover off, the Memory Card can easily come out.
Does anyone know if this is a defect in this handset?
Thanks
Martin

My friend bought this afew days ago, and SHE HATES IT. Firstly, the battery is astonishingly SH*T, and the ringtone can't even be changed! We've tried setting from the default 'Ring Ring' to another one and all that comes up when someone rings her is the simple 'Ring Ring' all the time, no matter what tone we select. Truly disappointing. The exact same problem also occurred with my other mate's O2 XM phone. Don't buy it.

Bought this a few days ago from O2 shop for £69.95. Chose it mainly because of price. Was choice of this or Nokia 6020 for £79.99 and this had pc lead & SD Card plus better spec.
Overall impressed with phone but have had a few strange problems. I'm sure it doesn't vibrate every time I get a text. The alarm once sounded as a beep instead of the tune it was set to play and a when a text came through it beeped instead of playing the set tune.Anyone else experienced this?
To answer a few questions:
1) You don't get a CD the usb drivers are on the phone so your pc should recognise it instantly as extra drives (assuming you are using XP.. I assume 98 etc wouldn't work though it could be made to if you can get the driver to the pc).
2) To have an mp3 as a ringtone, install the mp3 to the phone rather than the card and it should appear in your ringtone listings.
3) To change the phone to silent rather than vibrate you have to select the light only option in the audio section.
If I'd paid the £200 initial price, I don't think I'd be overjoyed, but for £70 I'll see how it goes. It's a decent phone but the little strange quirks are a bit worrying, at least I have 14 days to swap it for the Nokia if things get worse.
Battery is not bad until you connect it to the pc or use the mp3 player. If you want to seriously use this as an mp3, either forget it or buy a stock of spare batteries!!

Matt & Panda. How strange.... my sister and I have been given XM's as presents, and haven't had any of the issues you tell us about. We think the phone is fab (we had Nokia's and Samsung's before).
Maybe its a guy thing!!! and only us girls know how to work the buttons!!!

jus got this phone a few days ago and have had several problems already.
It freezes quite often.
When someone calls/texts their name doesnt come up even if they are in your phonebook.
When i call/get called by someone I cant hear them an they cant hear me.
Not impressed by this fone, am taking it back and changing it for a different one tomorrow.

I wouldn't recommend getting this phone. I got it when it was first launched, I'm now onto my 3rd phone and am phoning this week to ask that they let me choose another model - been looking about and will probably go for the Samsung Z500.
I can sympathise with everything d has said below as I've had all the same problems - even speaking to the O2 people who know little about the phone.
MMS messages are a nightmare to send, and once sent they don't actually reach their destination. I've been charged for downloading music onto the memory card, then had to get the phone changed and the memory card with all the music I've paid for won't work on the new phone unless its formatted - which means wiping all the tunes.
It says you can use MP3 tunes as ringtones but god knows how because I've tried and failed many times. Phone switches off all the time when you're in the middle of writing a text, and the amount of times I've lost count when someone has moaned because I havn't replied to a text - the text doesn't reach me in the first place.
If you're thinking of getting this phone, don't. If you already have the phone then I suggest you ask for a replacement and if they offer you the same phone again but just a different one argue your case because like I say, I'm on my 3rd one now and its been a waste of time.

ALRITE, i'll set things straight for everyone.
The bad things about his phone first.
The battery life is poor, using it a fair amount will make it run out in a day
The videos will only last 9 SECONDS and are of a poor quality
When you recieve a text, the phone may not recognise the number even if it is in your address book. this can get VERY annoying!
The phone does have a zoom function, but not for the megapixel option.
Megagpixel photos on this phone warp very easily, and without buying extra memory (memory card) you wont be able to hold many.
The phone randomly switches off, particularly whilst opening games or playing music
Last, this phone is hardly well known, hence hardly any games are available for the phone, for instance, and the staff at the o2 helplines know little to nothing about this phone, dispite it being an o2 phone!
The phone is barely 'coustimisable' - no screensavers, cant change layouts, not much to change in settings. also mms dont send at first
The good
The phone does come with a usb cable, which works VERY well and quickly.
The camera is a good quality one
The phone comes with a good memory card
The mp3 player works well
*tries to think of more good points*
nope thats it, all the above is true, hope this helps!

The XM doesnt have limited 9 seconds video recording length, The X3 X4 and the XM all work pretty much the same, with a card in the slot eg (128,256,512,1gig etc) you can record forever or for as big as the memory on the card will take.
