Office Mobile 2010 goes to WinMo 6.5 powered devices, for free

13 May, 2010

Microsoft have just released the new Windows Office Mobile 2010 and announced that as of today owners of devices based on Windows Mobile 6.5 can get their free upgrade by visiting the Windows Phone Marketplace.

After the Office Mobile 2010 Beta, which was released last November, WinMo users can now enjoy the retail version of the latest MS Office Mobile which allows Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote files browsing and editing on mobile devices.

What you need to get the new Office Mobile up and running on your mobile device is to hold a WinMo 6.5 powered device which already packs an earlier version of the Office Mobile software. Then you need a quick visit to the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Thanks to the Microsoft Office Mobile 2010 you can not only open existing Office documents but also edit them and create ones of your own. It also gives you access to the documents shared via the Microsoft's SharePoint 2010. You can view, edit or update them as well.

I had got the same, but it is possible to uninstall Office 2010 - find 'uninstall programs' on your smartphone. On the other hand - I have posted similar comment here, but it was removed.
