One UI 7 changes refresh rate settings for games
Samsung just released the second beta of One UI 7, its skin on top of Android 15, and a new feature that's baked into this beta changes the way you can set the refresh rate for games.
In older versions of One UI, you can limit the frame rate in games to 48 Hz to save power. With the new iteration of the skin, you get to choose between 60 Hz and 120 Hz, and nothing else.
One UI 7 Gaming motion smoothness setting
You can find this setting in the Gaming Hub / Game Booster app under Gaming motion smoothness. Samsung says this feature won't affect games that have their own refresh rate setting. And games which don't support going over 60 Hz won't magically start working at 120 Hz if you flip this switch.
You can also adjust performance settings like the maximum frame rate, resolution, and overall optimization level separately for each game through Game Booster now.
