Hello everyone, I just bought OnePlus 10 Pro about 4 days ago but battery life drains faster than expected. Battery life is worse than my Pixel 6 pro.
      Please suggest battery tips.

After using Xiaomi flagship killer (2019) Mi 9T PRO / Redmi K20 PRO, and without any concerns for performance or lack of space, the phone was doing fine for me, battery included. I decided to give OnePlus a go after many years watching the brand build up and witnessing some close people using past models.
The hardware improvement is very impressive from the Snapdragon 855 to the 8 gen 1. The system is snappier, and more responsive overall. Android 12 is also an added bonus with a cleaner UI and overall lighter feel.

Since I first saw information on this phone I noticed a lot of negativity coming towards this phone, the camera, the battery this and that. Totally ignoring that this phone is not running base with neither the iPhone Apple Tax edition nor the Samsung S22+ , OnePlus placed this phone right on the top cap for a phone price in my opinion of a grand, it's not cheap but nowadays no phone is cheap on the higher scale, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro cost me one third of this price back in 2019, and I don't regret having paid 3 times more now.

It's my belief and practice that photography on phones is for the occasional photo, and not to replace a dedicated camera. So all the discussion a around the phone photo quality is a bit of something I don't really pay much attention.

The battery may die quick and the only sad about it is that is not readily replaceable like old phones were. About the endurance. I get to whole of my day with battery still, browsing, calling charging the phone for about 30 minutes each evening on a supervooc wireless charger 50 watt before turning it off for the night.

As for games I tried some of them albeit I don't generally use phone to play as I don't like it in general, being a 4K PC gamer myself, phone just feels downscaling. But from what I threw at it was great performance and 10-25% used battery.

I think the best thing about this phone is how well the UI system oxygen oppo or not is running in this phone, the 120Hz display also adds value to this.

I am overall very satisfied with the upgrade and I am looking to stay with this phone for the long term now. (Probably with a battery replacement down the line).

If you like foldable phones this one is not for you. It does not fold it only breaks. I don't understand why are people expecting this phone to fold and throw bad comments because it doesn't. It does not say anywhere to be a foldable phone. As for water resistance. Stop taking baths when you're on the phone and it will work fine. If you want to run under the rain, buy a fit bracelet or a 4G LTE watch like I did long time ago and you will see that the water resistance to your sweat is enough.

                Never settle.

So I’ve bought the OnePlus 10 pro.
Beforehand I’ve played around with the Samsung Galaxy S22+ a bit, which is also a great device, but the bigger/better battery made me finally go for the OnePlus 10 pro.
I’ve watched every review on all new phones that could have potentially been my new phone.
After all, a flagship is around 1000€, that’s not a small price to pay.
Now the thing that bothers me about most reviews out there, is that they all go about the same things: Specs, screen, battery, camera… all important things, but I feel almost no ones talks about the most important one: daily user experience.

Now I’m moving to the OnePlus 10 Pro form a 4 year old device, so you would think that this should be a step up right?
But the thing is, I feel I’ve made a step down when it comes to daily usage experience.

So before you ask, full disclosure, I’m coming from a Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Let me first list the things I do like from “upgrading” to the OnePlus 10 Pro:
Fingerprint scanner is crazy fast and accurate.
The screen is gorgeous, even if the 120hz refresh rate doesn’t really make a difference to me to be honest.
The toggle switch should be on every phone, it’s a really useful addon.

But then, when using the phone for daily stuff I feel a lot of things are missing.
First, how does my 4 year old device record 4k with the front face camera and this doesn’t??
Notification badges, there is an option to set to show numbers but then no notification badges are shown at all.
The wallpaper-based theming system in Android 12 is a (admittedly great) new feature that works well with the right wallpaper. But in OxygenOS there is no option to not use this feature. Which is present on every other brand out there (or at least the ones I’ve been in contact with).

                                        The gallery, oh boy.
No hidden folders option, although there is a way to set pictures and others to “private” it is not a usable option for me. You can’t hide or set folders to private, which seems like a very basic option to me.
There are some small built- in editing options for pictures and video, which are very basic.
No option to select a bunch of pictures or videos and create a sort of “social media” video out of the selected media. Which is what 90% of people using phones do these days right?
Again, all functions my 4 year old device has, and is really useful.
And I know, some will say to just download 3d party apps. But that’s the thing, on a “Flagship device” I would expect these basic functions to be present.
Especially if other brands do have all these (and more) functionalities on board.

Then I started taking some pictures.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice camera, although very slow in opening the pictures.
But again, when I compare these to my Mate 20 Pro, I do not see any real improvement.
I understand that flagship devices do not improve by a big stretch over one or two years.
But after 4 years, you’d at least expect an upgrade when moving to another flagship device no?
But for me, like I said in the beginning, it still feels like a step down.
Hopefully future updates will make things better, but for now, I will sadly keep using my Mate 20 Pro just because it works better in daily use.

So final verdict, the OnePlus 10 Pro is a good device, just like the Samsung S22+ and other flagships out there. But, if they are worth the price of admission, I’ll leave that up to you.
If a 4 year older device can outshine them feature wise and user friendly wise, then I think something is not right.
