neo89, 17 Jan 2024Friendly advice: CN version comes with no Google Apps and... moretradingshenzhen is reputable seller with warranty , had great experience using them and they are selling it pre flashed with oxygen, bootloader locked, no issues with google pay, bank apps will work as if bought from own region only thing that doesnt have is esim which is probably hardware related to CN version, and the saving made I know where I'll be buying from :)

Jerry, 13 Jan 2024Deciding between Pixel 8 Pro, Galaxy S24U and OnePlus 12! W... moreWe've had OnePlus 8T, Nord 100, 200, 10 & 20 for the past four years in our family. Great Photos, Battery and fast charging. I've had no issues except for an older model. My Nord 200 on its last update a year ago had an os issue. My carrier replaced it with the upgraded version no charge. I still have my 8T and will be getting the 12 when available by me.

We have had BB, Moto, Samsung, Apple, LG, CAT, HTC, and possibly a Sony at one time amongst our family of 6 and business. For the price, LG [no longer in the phone business] and OnePlus have been the best. I mean at its core, everything has the same internals now and it really comes down to feel and usage. Even the 8T at the time was probably more phone than I needed, but to have the extra available without paying a Samsung or Apple premium price for the name worked for me, our business and family. No, we aren't sponsored either. We all looked at Google, but their super duper extra fine print and control over photos, storage and pricing etc was our issue.

Giving in to the Big names with every flagship is not for me, especially like mentioned before, at their core the phones are primarily identical. I think you just have to look at what works for and what is important to you in a phone. Long story short, we like the OnePlus, and will continue with the brand until the a] discontinue or b] start overpricing/matching Apple and Samsung prices.

btreb, 17 Jan 2024Hey mate, also an Aussie and considering the CN variant if... moreCN version (ColorOS) with playstore installed still has some limitations.
Some Android apps don't work even with playstore installed from what I read eg: Android Auto, Google Assist, etc..

When global version of the phone is released you can download the global firmware that uses OxygenOS and flash your CN phone with it, then all your google apps will work like normal.

For me I don't use Google Playstore or any Goggle apps on any phone I've owned.
No Gmail, No Youtube Music/Video, No Google Search, No Google Assist, No Google Chrome, No Google Maps, No Google File Explorer, Calendar, Wallet, etc..
I intentionally bought my CN op 12 phone as a sealed pack without google play store installed (Thank God).
Unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone the day I got it.
I sideload all the apps and emulators I use.
All the apps I've installed have worked without error so far.
                Current apps I use:
MiXplorer (Awesome free legit no crapware file manager)
                Firefox
                VLC
                Proton VPN

                Emulators:
                PPSSPP (Play Station Portable)
                AetherSX2 (Play Station 2)
                snes9X (Super Nintendo)
Multiple Switch Emus (Some switch emus support some games better then others)

So mileage may vary per user, as I don't utilize anything related to Google data minig crapware (apart from Android itself).

btreb, 17 Jan 2024Hey mate, also an Aussie and considering the CN variant if... moreFriendly advice:
CN version comes with no Google Apps and to install the international version you must unlock the bootloader.
EU does not allow payment services with an unlocked bootloader (Google Wallet or any other NFC payment app is no longer compliant).
Be aware when buying the eBay and Aliexpress, sellers are voiding the warranty once unlocking the bootloader and they will do whatever it takes not to accept returns in case of a problem.
My opinion is not worth it.

smashly, 15 Jan 2024Sounds about right.. I paid $1535 AUD for op 12 Silver CN ... moreHey mate,
also an Aussie and considering the CN variant if the global variant comes in a couple hundred dollars more expensive. Checked the bands and seems compatible with my provider. Just wondering if there is anything else to consider, i see a lot of businesses selling the CN version in Australia offer to flash it and install play store for you, is it really that easy?

Is it just me not liking this huge and very protruding, asymmetrically placed camera island at the back of the phone? Remember the good old OnePlus 5T with its sleek 7.2mm thickness out of which a tiny dual camera island protruded only like half a mm? Good old days gone by. Now all phone manufacturers make thicker phones that don't really last longer on one battery charge and worse, with huge camera island monstrosities at the back. So it would be either wobbling on a desk or you have to put a very thick case on it. Wondering how thick the phone would be with a case from which the cameras don't stick out. I guess about 12mm if lucky. Or mabye even 13mm... :-( Also... It's so tall! I wouldn't mind if it was wider (like 18:9 or even 16:9 ratio), but this long, it would barely fit into any of my pockets due to its length... Otherwise I like the specs and software (currently I have a OP 8T) and the price (at least the Chinese price, don't know how much more it will cost in Europe), just the design is what I kind of dislike...

an2sim, 12 Jan 2024Does it have ASHA support? Audio stream for Hearing ads - ASHA.I'm hard of hearing and haven't got an expensive set of hearing aids. But I did find out that phones with bluetooth 5.0 and higher support it, so almost all handsets with the latest bluetooth standard should have ASHA.

I plan to get a good set of hearing aids with the ASHA support in 2025, and use with the op12 which I will probably buy by the end of this year. I hope this answers your question!

I paid $1535 AUD for op 12 Silver CN 24GB/1TB here in Australia (delivered to my door).
Translates to $934.58 Euro or $1022.92 USD (as I type).
Which is still cheaper then the $1100 USD price for 16GB/512GB offered by GSMArena partner shops. (Even if they are US/Global version)

OnePlus 12 in the EU in my country now has lower price than Pixel 8 Pro 256Gb and S23 Ultra 512GB. OP12 recently with Colors OS China version available now in EU since the global with Oxygen OS gonna be launched later this month or February. If taking photos or more videos than maybe not OP12 no OIS on front, nor on wide camera. It's under 1000 euros while Pixel 8 Pro and S23 Ultra are at 1200-1500. At least by me in the EU. The OP12 1TB storage is like 950 euros.
