There is a toggle switch under Display/Brightness in Settings, that I had ignored. The switch is called "Auto Brightness". By turning it OFF, the brightness will now stay at the setting I have chosen manually.

Is it easi... moreIR blaster was the coolest. its my 1st phone to have this feature. i tried pranking my office TV by turning it off and lowering volume while they didn't know who did it. xD though it was hard to pair it on TV at first since you have to test it out many times until you get the right setup.
Aqua touch hmmm i haven't tried that yet since i don't use my phone directly on rain. i don't trust ip certificate even before my phone oppo find x2, samsung s22u. i never trust ip rating but still those 2 phones even i took care of them still got screen issue(flickering green screen and top bar screen bleed).
multi-tasking no problem, very smooth UI. can open and run many apps on background without compromising smoothness of UI. also i haven't even experience this phone stuttering or struggling on apps.
brightness is well okay, same performance as s22u. i don't see much different on brightness display with my S22u and 1+12. both phones using directly on daylight is no problem.

Bval, 12 Feb 2024Please tell us about the network reception on your OP Chine... morevery good, i'd say excellent compared to my Samsung S22u. damn before i didn't own a oneplus 12, i was using a backup phone Realme 10 Pro+ (china variant w/ global rom) since my primary S22u is very slow at picking up mobile signals. i was frustrated with it.
Oneplus 12 Chinese Variant or flashed with global rom, mobile connection in my country is no problem. all frequency band specification matched with my country's required frequency band especially 4G and 5G.

amin, 14 Feb 2024Please stop making curved display I prefer the curved display. I do not like the flat screen on the Samsung S24's. There's something about the curve, and the rounded edges that I just like a lot. Kinda like the curves on a sports car.

I have been thinking about writing Oneplus tech support about it, because it is a bit annoying. Maybe this practice in the software helps to save battery, but we should have the option of turning that off, or to leave it at the setting we choose permanently.

Is it easi... moreI live in the rainy Netherlands and I've had the OnePlus 12 for a week now and can happily say AquaTouch is amazing. I have used my phone in the rain with wet hands twice now with no problem, with all previous phones it was practically impossible to use them in the same conditions.
The IR blaster works well and there are a fair number of device profiles but you won't be able to use it with obscure brands e.g. the streaming device i got from my Dutch ISP isn't listed.
Screen is bright enough to be used in direct sunlight. I haven't once had to squint or scuttle into some shade to see the screen since i got the phone.
Haven't used multitasking yet so can't say how that works.

I've been using the OnePlus 12 CN 16GB/1TB for over a month now, purchased it for $800. Overall, I'm satisfied with the upgrade from the Samsung S22u (skipped S24u due to green bleed issue on my S22u). I won't go back to Samsung due screen issues (experienced green line issue with Samsung S20+ too). Opted for OnePlus with a BOE panel like my Huawei P50 Pro, which has been issue-free for three years. I miss OneUI customization though. :(
I got the China variant and flashed it with an Indian ROM for Odialer app support. Network bands in India and my country are the same. For those interested in converting to global, check XDA forum.
The phone is very responsive with a smooth UI, modified to 120Hz refresh across all apps. Battery endurance easily gives me 10hrs SoT on mixed mobile data and Wi-Fi usage, AoD-Power Saving, and Auto Select Refresh Rate with Standard Screen Resolution. My previous S22u couldn't achieve that even on 60Hz. OnePlus 12 also has a better camera than S22u, preferring its image quality over Samsung's overly processed images resembling oil paintings.

There are various complains on reddit about uniformity issues on screen with white spots in low brightness. Have you noticed any such issue??

Can someone write a review about this phone? Charging, screen, multitasking, camera? How is it performing?
And IR blaster. Is it working good? I remember good old days with huawei and it's IR blaster. It's so cool to have ability to control your TV with smartphone.
