Back in the day I had an LG G6, and I thought it had an OLED display, but later I found it didn't. Old flagships had really good IPS screens. Even monitors with these type of displays look gorgeous today. The problem is that is extremely rare to find a good IPS screen nowadays. Manufacturers prefer to use cheap IPS with horrible viewing angles and dull colors to save some bucks. When they feel they need to deliver a better experience, they just switch to OLED screens.

Regardless of display tech, each type of display also has its grade. Like you said, most IPS LCD displays are used on midrangers. Unsurprisingly, they are also low grade (because they are meant for midrangers!)
AFAIK, the last great IPS panel belonged on the LG G7 ThinQ. I own one, and I love it.
I am no IPS hater, I love my IPS as long as it's good quality. But sadly that is not the case with most IPS phones today.

Wowza! OnePlus really did a good job with the design this time around! Looks much less gaudy than before, and they slimmed it down a lot. And it's the R variant so it's practically still a flagship. Literally the only sucky thing is USB 2.0, but that's it. Finally a OnePlus phone that is worth considering.

Display is damn good.....and I think telephoto lens will do much better than 13R too.....moreover when I saw live display of both phones 13R design looks a boxy type hence I didn't like it.....Only edge 13R has got over this one is the processor but for me I'm not a power user it will be fine for me to get along with dimensity......and It's IP Rating is better too than 13R.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2025Does it still have the green line issue or have they finall... moreIn India, OnePlus promised a lifetime screen warranty due to this green line issue.
While discussing warranty, I asked a service center personnel which OnePlus models they'd last seen the green line issue still occurring, and they said it was on the OP 10 models.
However, it's important to note that this problem isn't exclusive to the OnePlus brand. This video provides a great discussion about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I_rSgyy6GU.

The only substantial edge Oppo Reno13 Pro has is a better selfie camera.
