Can someone recommend me a phone for approximately $600? I'm considering OnePlus 13R, but was wandering if there are other decent options. Thank you!

Gino76ph, 04 Feb 2025I am looking to get the 13R by Summer or Black Friday Sale.... moreOnce I was in a confusion of buying one between OP13R and Oppo Reno 13 Pro......but later I decided according to my needs that going for Reno 13 Pro would be better as I priorities camera over performance that is the reason and moreover there were some upgrades each over the other in different aspects too.......Reno 13 Pro tick all the boxes of my need that's why I have gone with it.

Grook adventure, 09 Feb 2025Just go with the OnePlus 13r then . I say no for Xiaomi it ... moreHaving had the 10T and now the Nord 3 i suppose the natural progress is to get the 13R. It has roughly the same dimensions with the Nord 3 (even slightly less taller diagonally) so it's not that big for my hands and is within the realm of their flagship series so i won't worry too much with updates.
If Xiaomi had given users the choice to completely delete their 1st-party apps (especially their Apps Mall app store) and drastically decrease the bloateware then I may sway towards them. But as of now it's looking likely the 13R is a tempting one.
          Would you agree?

iPhone is totally out of the question as I'm an Android user 100% of the time.
The iQOO is not sold in my country whilst the 12R has curved screen which i hate.
If the Galaxy S24 had a Snapdragon chipset and at least 45w charging then I will go for that. The new S25 series is also out of the question because of its exorbitant price. I do not like those Galaxy Ultra devices as they are big, heavy & bulky for my hands. Same with the A-series.
That leaves me with a Google Pixel 9 (which is still very expensive) or the Xiaomi 14; I never had any heating issues with my past Xiaomi phones and battery life is very decent. You can actually disable or delete some 1st-party apps and turn off ads which may be a temporary solution.
                  So, any other suggestions?

OnePlus 13R or redmi note 14 pro plus? I'm confused. I need good battery, i play pubg for 3 4 hours per day, and i need better selfie camera.

I'm currently using redmi note 9s. It was great for gaming in the beginning. But it's a bit slow now

My friend has a mi 14 he said has lot heating issues , battery drop is more and he might see some ads sometimes. Hyper Os is just like Miui so it's not so much.
You either buy a device like OnePlus 13r , iQOO neo 9 pro , OnePlus 12r , I say big No for Xiaomi Smartphones imo. The device I said has Snapdragon 8 gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 gen 2 which will long last and has faster charging 100w and 5500mah battery which last 2days at least I had 12r it's perfect

What do you exactly mean by Xiaomi's "longevity" and not ageing well?
I think trust is a string word to put out on a company such as Xiaomi. And i get that.
I've had Xiaomi phones in the past and the longest time i owned one (12 Lite) was probably 7 months and the 13T for almost 5 months.
My issues with them are many: build quality, battery life (brought by a bloated MIUI and Hyper OS), privacy (being a chinese phones and not very often security updates) and after sales or customer support. The numbered flagships may be better in terms of faster updates and better build quality but other issues remain.
DO you share these opinions too?
And for what it's worth, specs and discounted price would you get a Xiaomi 14 now or wait for the global release of the 15?

Gino76ph, 04 Feb 2025I am looking to get the 13R by Summer or Black Friday Sale.... moreThe 13R is a big phone, so you should probably forget about it if you're looking to veer away from big phones already.

If you really want a "compact" phone with a great camera system and you don't mind a Chinese ROM (wherein you can install Google Play anyway), the vivo X200 Pro mini is your best bet. It even comes with OriginOS, which is better than HyperOS, IMO. Plus I don't trust Xiaomi phones' longevity yet—speaking based on past experience. Back when HyperOS was still MIUI, Xiaomi phones worked great in the beginning but didn't age well. I do hope they're more committed to supporting their devices longer now with HyperOS, which was released only in 2023, but reputation-wise? I wouldn't trust a Xiaomi phone yet.

Looking to wait what the Xiaomi 15 can offer. I think i'm done with big phones.

I would go for the OP13R coz OP has proven its reliability as well as durability over the years, this 13R has very good specs and good reviews too for the price

I bought 13r 16/512gb variant. Display with vision support is awsm. Colours are true to the nature. Dual speaker gives virtual surround sound feel. Watching movie or listening song is a feast.
Display brightness is more than enough, even for outdoor situations. Selfie camera output needs adjustment.
