I tried this phone for a few days and had to return it. I guess I have become too accustomed to Xiaomi phones. I don't like talking to devices, so to shut the Oneplus 13R down, I had to hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time, a nuisance. Also, I couldn't get used to the navigation system. I tried the swiping option and buttons. With the former, I found it nearly impossible to bring up and clear recent apps. Using the buttons was no joy either. The back button sometimes closed an app, sometimes it just went back a page within the open app. The middle button sometimes closed the app, sometimes did nothing. I gave up.

Grook adventure, 12 Feb 2025Idk man 13r seems fine imo . Your wish just buy a perfect d... moreI think there is no such thing as a perfect phone. Only an "ideal" phone for your ideal needs.
I still think for me the phone with an ideal size (for my hands) is either a Pixel 8 or 9, Xiaomi 14 or 15 or a Galaxy S2x series (not the Ultra). Good speakers (better if w/ Dolby Atmos), almost the perfect size, very decent chipset and A1 cameras.
I have a discount from Samsung expiring at the end of the month which is quite tempting tho i hate the slow charging of their phones (not the Ultra). Pixel 9 is very expensive and even if you trade-in you have to pay full price and i feel the 9 is not a worthy upgrade over the 8. I can get also some good discounts on OnePlus but their phones are a tad big. I could go for Xiaomi but hate their apps store and ads.
So,
what's it gonna be?

Your wish just buy a perfect device , 13r has downgrades like : No Dolby Audio but still sounds very good , Fingerprint Sensor is down , USB 2.0 only , No premium look like previous 12r , Single Cell Battery means take longer time charge like 55min but 12r takes 30min . You can wait and see if you want but this phone is too perfect 😅

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2025Once I was in a confusion of buying one between OP13R and O... moreOppo has a strange, somewhat limited/staggered device release window here in the UK. And the Reno 13 series is still not available.
My other choice is the OnePlus 13R. (Note: I currently have the Nord 3 w/ Oxygen OS 15)
But, part of me is saying i want a compact device similar to a Pixel 8/9 or a Xiaomi 13/14.

Gino76ph, 04 Feb 2025I am looking to get the 13R by Summer or Black Friday Sale.... moreOnce I was in a confusion of buying one between OP13R and Oppo Reno 13 Pro......but later I decided according to my needs that going for Reno 13 Pro would be better as I priorities camera over performance that is the reason and moreover there were some upgrades each over the other in different aspects too.......Reno 13 Pro tick all the boxes of my need that's why I have gone with it.

Grook adventure, 09 Feb 2025Just go with the OnePlus 13r then . I say no for Xiaomi it ... moreHaving had the 10T and now the Nord 3 i suppose the natural progress is to get the 13R. It has roughly the same dimensions with the Nord 3 (even slightly less taller diagonally) so it's not that big for my hands and is within the realm of their flagship series so i won't worry too much with updates.
If Xiaomi had given users the choice to completely delete their 1st-party apps (especially their Apps Mall app store) and drastically decrease the bloateware then I may sway towards them. But as of now it's looking likely the 13R is a tempting one.
Would you agree?

Grook adventure, 08 Feb 2025If you want long lasting phone means buy an iphone or Samsu... moreI appreciate your suggestions but i do not want any of them apart from the 13R.
iPhone is totally out of the question as I'm an Android user 100% of the time.
The iQOO is not sold in my country whilst the 12R has curved screen which i hate.
If the Galaxy S24 had a Snapdragon chipset and at least 45w charging then I will go for that. The new S25 series is also out of the question because of its exorbitant price. I do not like those Galaxy Ultra devices as they are big, heavy & bulky for my hands. Same with the A-series.
That leaves me with a Google Pixel 9 (which is still very expensive) or the Xiaomi 14; I never had any heating issues with my past Xiaomi phones and battery life is very decent. You can actually disable or delete some 1st-party apps and turn off ads which may be a temporary solution.
So, any other suggestions?

OnePlus 13R or redmi note 14 pro plus? I'm confused. I need good battery, i play pubg for 3 4 hours per day, and i need better selfie camera.
I'm currently using redmi note 9s. It was great for gaming in the beginning. But it's a bit slow now
