Make sure that location is in Battery Saving mode. Many apps like Ola, Google Maps will ask you to turn GPS on. Unfortunately when you close these apps, GPS won't be turned off automatically. Make it a habit to put it on battery saving mode again.
Also, make sure that WiFi scanning is off. (Location-> Scanning).
Aggressive doze is ON (Battery-> Aggressive Doze & App hibernation)
Auto closing of high power usage app is is ON (Battery-> Auto closing of high power usage).
Also, if you don't find it useful then turn off Proximity wake (from display settings).

3 days since purchase and phone has already started heating, have not used it properly now, extensive use is still far and this result, 3 more days and if problem not solved, going to return it to Amazon. Disappointed :(

Jerryrigeverything performed a scratch test on the op3's camera, and it didn't scratch... And I've heard good things about the front camera on the op3T... It's slightly better than the oneplus 3...

If your phone gets damaged by falling on the ground or something like that, they won't consider it in warranty... The warranty covers 6 months for the battery, the adapter etc... The software is covered for 1 year, and if the motherboard or the components like charging port fail to work they'll change it, but not the displays and all, if damaged by you...
I think, if you've bought the oneplus 3T then just use it, iPhone's warranty also covers the same things (but apple is aggressive in providing warranty then oneplus)... You'll only get the camera better on the ip7...
Regarding insurance, I don't think so it is necessary... Because claiming the insurance is real pain in the ass... Anyways its just a safety measure, if yoh want then you can buy an insurance, but it has nothing to do with the warranty...

Initially I used to own a redmi note 3 and I was using the same samsung HS130 earphone, it used to perform brilliantly even without the equaliser... But as soon as I shifted to the op3 I noticed a change in the audio, the audio was flat and lacking base... Let me check the setting you told...

Performance, however, one plus 3t dominates especially for the price your paying.

OP3T is a no brainer choice over OP3. You get bigger battery, better front camera, better and power efficient processor, scratch proof ceramic glass on camera lense. That's enough for 40$ difference in price.

However, that means i wont be covered when parts start to fail on the phone like the charging port and camera lense i hear tends to break. Then i have to worry about not losing my phone or else get stuck paying another 440$. My friend keeps insisting on me get an iphone 7 for 650 and payoff in payment what do the phone pros recommend???? Also one plus recommended me to go through asurion phone insurance any opinions on claims and asurion

But the audio via ... moreI am using Xiaomi Piston headphones and output is much better on 3T than any other phone I have tested previously. I have tweaked audio output using equilizer. Select JBL E1+ in earphone type in aufio settings. It makes huge difference.

Battery backup is good and will last you a full working day, even if you use the device heavily you always have the dash charging to top up your battery...
The performance is good, but not excellent... I have seen some UI lags after the nougat update, which were not in marshmallow... Hope they get fixed in the upcoming updates...
